The interim period between the Old Testament and the New Testament is not silent. First and second Maccabees tells the story of the Jewish people fighting for independence and gaining independence until Rome became a power. I can’t remember how long but it was over 130 years of freedom. They were allowed to go back to Judah to rebuild their temple by the Persian king Darius. There’s a lot of history written about this time. It’s not silent.
