I'm replacing my Wilson 1000 CB antenna with a 102" ball mount antenna. I admit it looks a bit outrageous but it fits the old school feel of the car. I haven't made many videos and I realize the audio is atrocious, especially my mumbling, but I hope to improve the quality in the future. A 1991 351w with a carburetor?
@@JohnSmith-qn3ob Yup, came from the factory with Ford's 2 barrel Variable Venturi carburetor. I put the Holley on it.
@@mrjon1985 Oh, I thought everything went fuel injected by the 90's
@@JohnSmith-qn3ob I had the police version of this car also, it had the 302 that was fuel injected, but the 351 was carbureted. Only 1 out of 10 in '91 came with the 351 though.
You have a very nice example of a 1991 Police Interceptor model and the 351 Windsor is certainly a prize. I do believe they could be ordered in the Station Wagon's as part of the tow package back in the day. I have a 1991 Wagon LX model in Pastel Alabaster color which completed a complete restoration in 2020 and has 16,000.0 miles since the rebuild and is the primary tow vehicle for my 18'-0" Starcraft boat. Mine has the 302 5 - liter V8 engine with 4 speed Automatic Overdrive transmission. Thanks for the video.
Thank you. I bet your wagon tows very nice. You should post a video of it, I'd love to see it. I don't like making videos myself but I know people out there like you enjoy them.
A very clean example of a 1991 Crown Victoria sedan. Is this color White or Pastel Alabaster ( off white )? I have a 1991 Crown Victoria LX Wagon in Pastel Alabaster that is equally clean with only 14,000.0 miles on it since a complete restoration in 2020. My Wagon has 11" diameter brake drums at the rear which is typical for these Wagon's. Thanks for the video.
@@phillipbouchard4197 Why thank you. The paint isn't original. It's currently Rust-Oleum white, which pretty much matches the original white paint. When I bought it, 21 years ago, the clear coat was starting to flake off, starting with the hood. I'll someday get around to getting it painted proper.
Great thanks I will mount my filter the same. Also forgot to ask I am trying to source the part or part # of the rubber gasket that goes where the fuel filler neck meets the new gas tank? My original rubber gasket was pretty worn and would like to replace so no rubber fragments get into the new tank. Thanks again for the help.
@@uploadeb8084 Got mine from rock auto when I bought the tank. Called a "fuel tank filler neck seal".
I replaced the tank, fuel sender float and rubber lines on my 91' 5.8. I was wondering where is a good place to mount the inline micron fuel filter?
@@uploadeb8084 I spliced mine in right before the mechanical fuel pump.
Just noticed that it has bucket seats, very rare indeed. You hardly ever saw bucket seats back then. This is about the third one I've ever seen from that model year.
@@theoneandonly6431 I know, took me a while to find seat covers for them. They're the same seats used in the Taurus from the time.
I had one of these back in the early 2000s, along with a 1990 9C1 Caprice and I stupidly traded them both in for a Dodge Ram pick-up. I've regretted that decision so much over the years, but at least I do have a 2010 CVPI now.

I just got an 89 crown Vic with the 5.0 302. Love these older box cars
That rear axle was probably changed, all the Crown Victorias with the police package had the larger rear drum brakes, just like the station wagons.
@@JohnMurphy-dw6ml That's why I mentioned it. Had 73000 miles on when when I bought it from the county. I removed the axle 5 years ago to replace the 2:73 gear set with 3:55 LSD. Nothing to prove it, but nothing to indicate it's not the factory axle.
Currently in process of replacing fuel tank, lines and pump on my same 91 LTD 5.8 351w sedan. What size/part # fuel lines and length do you recommend?
Are you replacing just the rubber portions or the metal lines also? The main fuel line is 5/16 and the return is 1/4. I would definitely recommend paying extra for quality rubber line. I bought some "Evil Energy" fuel hose and it's very good. I've had cheap stuff basically turn to goo, dissolved by the gas in a matter of days. I haven't had to do any metal lines yet but if I did I'd buy nickel/copper brake line. Expensive but very easy to work with. Probably go with a 20 foot roll or thereabouts.
Nice 👍
Oh nice, I didn’t know that LTDs came with a 351. I always thought they came with a 302. Cheers man :)
Most had the 5.0, even quite a few of the police models. The 351W is definitely a rarity.

I seriously want to find one of these but In New Jersey where I am from there LTDs are hard to come by especially one in the shape this one is in. Also your Mercury is identical to mine.
They're rare down here as well. Haven't even been able to find one in a salvage yard for parts.
I have an 87 with the 351 Windsor police package that I might want to sell. I’m located in New York City.

I could’ve bought a 91 with 7800 miles that was in a collection of a guy that owned a ford dealership he wanted $12,900 I wish I would’ve bought it.
That is a pretty steep price, would've been cool though
@@mrjon1985 I thought so to but, then I look around and found one sold for $12,999 with 8800 miles and one that sold for $14,000 with just over 10,000 miles. I really messed up even if I could’ve gotten it for $10,000 or $11,000 I would’ve got rid of it and I would’ve sold my Silverado and drove it every day because I’m am sick of new cars I will never buy another new car.

How much is a 351 watt motor?
The "W" is short for Windsor, the name of this family of engines. I don't know what you mean by how much.
Cool car. I own the same. My are '90, with fresh 351w FT4E roller block, dual plane manifold, AVS2 Edelbrock carb, HEI ignition set, ported heads and heavy duty AOD with 4R75W internals. Rear end are 3.73. Burnout beast:)

It's a huge shame the 351 version of the Windsor V8 is exclusive to the police version of the Crown Victoria unless you're in Canada. Nice to hear what it sounds like, as it is a bit different tone from the 5.0L. I have a 1989. Cool fact is this, a '91 with the 5.8, that's the final car with a carburetor motor!
When I found out these beauties came with a 351 I knew I had to have one. Wish I hadn't messed with the engine in my youth and everything was still stock, but those parts are long gone. I'm trying to get the transmission tweaked properly at the moment.
