Just another one of the fab projects Chandler had. He takes on all sorts of work, not sure what that particular job was.

You're right it was a bit deeper, but my whole goal with this setup was to get a more exotic/high pitched tone out of it. It didn't come out sounding exactly how I thought it would in my head, but I much prefer the current sound over how it was with just the mufflers.

Closing up the squish with shaved heads isn't quite the same as switching to a new combustion chamber design and tightening the squish. But everyone's got their preference!

@ you can machine the standard heads to create a proper squish profile.

That'd be sweet and I'd love to organize a midwest meet some day! On facebook theres likes of M coupe groups, one of the big ones being BMW M & Z3 Coupe Enthusiasts. Every year since 2012 ish they've been doing an event called Schuh Syndikat and I went for the first time this past May. We set the world record for most amount of Z3 and M coupes in one spot at 96 coupes. I filmed a video about it that i still need to put together, but I'd like to make it every year if I can!

I wish we had the S50 instead of the S52! Dual vanos and ITB's are a dream. An S54 M coupe was always the dream but the prices are out of my range unfortunately, especially for an imola red or phoenix/dakar yellow (my preference). I settled for the highest milleage S52 car I could find with imola red. Though I've been really pleasantly surprised with the S52. The torque feels great and the sound is perfect now. Leaves room on the table for some fun down the road with forced induction or an engine swap. Love the car!

When i was reading up on whp numbers for these S52 Z3M's i was seeing old forum lore posts about them making aywhere from 200-215 whp so when i saw it in the 227 range i was pretty happy especially considering its got about 248k miles on it now. But dynos are dynos and every dyno will read different. The real success was seeing the midrange pick up a healthy amount of hp and torque after the exhaust.

Thank you! The E36 M3 will forever be an awesome car. Interesting to hear that this is similar to your setup with long tube headers! I guess the equal length midsection does really act as if you were to put headers on the car. Have you ever had your car on the dyno? Curious how the power curves and peak numbers compare.

I sold my 95 m3 that had the ss knock-off headers, real ss res mid, and uuc/corsa rsc-36 tail. It sounded amazing! I had the euro snorkel airbox that accommodated the 3.5" maf, the silicone bw elbow into a 68mm bored tb, 24# injectors, and the trm 93 octane chip for those mods, and it put down 221whp.

I know that there is a japanese company called sunbeam motorsports. Their equal length resonated section 1 sounds incredible. Look up @jjjaacoobbb on instagram. He has that section 1 with what i believe to be a status gruppe section 3 (not sure on his section 2). Not 100% certain of those sections 2 and 3 but once he put that sunbeam section 1 on it went from sounding great to amazing. Was hoping this midsection would do something similar but the S52 just has its own sound and I'm really happy with how this one turned out anyway.

Thanks! Custom fab work like this is never cheap but the result was worth every penny. It'll depend based on the labor rate of your fabricator. Chandler was kind enough to help me out on the price to be in a range that I was happy with even though he should have charged more. There are plans to scan it and have him reproduce these in catless and catted versions for the S52 Z3M's which should make them more affordable. I'd guess they will fall in the range of superprint midsections but I can't speak to the actual final pricing. I would choose his work every single day over supersprint or any other company because the fitment was spot on and the quality of craftsmanship is second to none. Can't say the same for existing off the shelf options.

I will say, I had that custom midsection made that i mentioned in the video and it sounds fantastic. Equal length from the headers to an x-pipe, a pair of resonators, and no cats. It sounds so smooth down low and in the mid range, then screams up top. Really livened up the tone of the car. Still working on finishing the filming for that video (weather permitting here in the midwest). Definitely recommend looking into something like that for your setup.

Simple enough issue to fix! Beisan systems has kits to address the problems as well as really good write ups. Did my vanos seals and anti-rattle kit with their parts using an amazon timing tool this past spring.

Front ends off a 2017-ish Honda Grom with some custom parts i designed and had made to adapt it. I've got a full video on it!

HVC cycle high compression heads. They seem to be discontinued as I havent seen them on their website for the RD350 in over a year. I have a video on installing those. Front forks are honda grom with upgraded springs and custom machined parts to adapt them to the frame. Also have a video on that 🙂

Some generic cheap shocks from Ebay. They fit right up. Will be upgraded eventually with higher quality shocks. These were better than the 40+ year old originals 🙂
