Gears and his fellow curmudgeon, Huffer work at the mine shafts near Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. Their work is important, but it can be hot and dirty. Sometimes, this makes Gears and Huffer mischievous. One morning, he and Huffer were feeling very mischievous, indeed. "That's my line of mine carts," huffed Gears. "It's not, it's mine!" snorted Huffer. "Yours is over there." (both bickering) Their new friend, Chloe was worried. "Stop arguing, you two. Or the only thing you'll have left to share is..." (crash!) "Trouble." "Silly?" snapped Gears. "Silly yourself," grumbled Huffer. "Gears and Huffer, behave yourselves," said Optimus Prime. "It's clear to me that we need another Pokémon to help out. There's only one available. He's new and keen to make an impression." "If I were you," whispered Chloe, "I'd get back to work right away." Meanwhile, Optimus Prime was having doubts about his own decision. "I hope Genesect doesn't cause even more confusion. He's bound to have teething troubles." And he was right. (🎵Infiltrating Teletraan 1🎵) Genesect: "Oh, my grease and oil. I wasn't expecting this hill." (shaking and spluttering) "Ohh, what's that?" Chloe came to the rescue. "Sorry," said Genesect. "I'm all hot and bothered. I was looking for Red Alert, but I can't find him anywhere." The news soon spread. "Apparently, it's teething troubles," confided Petty to Brawn. (🎵Transition fanfare🎵) "Hey, you two, Genesect has a heartbreaking heartache. Good luck!" "Why does Brawn want to wish us good luck?" asked Gears. "Because he knows we'll need it. A Mythical Pokémon with a heartache must be the worst Pokémon ever!" Then, their manager spoke to them. "You will take your loads to the Hoenn region, and rest there tonight. There's a lot of hard work to do tomorrow." It was dark when Gears and Huffer reached the Hoenn region. They left the crates in the docks, and scurried off to May's. (both switching to robot modes) "You do look glum," sighed May. "It's all Jirachi's fault," replied Gears. "He's been asleep for 1,000 years. "Genesect hasn't got a heartbreaking heartache, he's got teething troubles. That means he's a new friend, and this causes some problems. In his case, he was looking for Red Alert, but he can't find him anywhere." Next morning, Gears and Huffer heard an unfamiliar voice. "Oh, no! That's Genesect!" And it was. "Hello. I'll soon sort this quest out. You take the front, and I'll push from behind." (chuckles) "What fun!" All went well as they set off. Then, they came to a hill. "Come on, come on! Push harder, Genesect!" shouted Huffer. But Genesect couldn't push any harder. (panting) "I'm overheating again." "Oh, pah!" snorted Gears. "You know what?" sighed Hound. "Let's try to finish the quest for Jirachi, anyway. It means we need to tow Genesect as well. Can you do it, Gears and Huffer?" Both: "We'll try!" And sure enough, they could. That night, Optimus Prime came to see them. "Well done, Gears and Huffer. I've sent Genesect to the Pokémon Center for immediate repairs. Will you two manage alone?" "Oh, yes, Optimus Prime." "Chloe," whispered Gears. "I'm sorry we were rude to you." "And," added Huffer. "Genesect was really quite friendly." "And you know what friends do?" murmured May. Both: "Know what?" "They always say goodnight to each other." And so they did, but, they still chatted about Genesect and his teething troubles all night long.
