I have recently ventured into conversational Ai from Marketing and like you said though there are lots of resources it is sometimes overwhelming.I have been doing a lot of courses but not sure how to start working on real capstone projects for building portfolio.any insights would be great👍

Amazing educational and quick content - learnt that as a conversational designer one of the things to map out in the flow is the input (request) and ouput (total # of...) as well as when the bot is calling an API. Love the quick tip that double clicking an arrow on Figjam allows us to add text between arrows. Thank you Elaine, and love your content!!

Thanks for sharing this inspiring journey. As someone in robotics, looking to focus more on the ways people will interact with the new generation of robots headed to market, this video is truly a hidden gem. I need to dive into the Conversation design focus, no doubt.

Hi, Did you get CxD certified through the Conversation Design Institute? I have a background in UX and writing and was considering their certification course. Also, I like your videos and Medium posts! Thanks!

I did not go through CDI. At the time I was getting into the field, an organization called Voice Tech Global had kicked off their conversational experience design certification course. It was a 6-week, weekly 3-hour live class with hands-on training. By the end of the program, we each had a capstone project that we presented in front of a panel of industry professionals. We were able to take those critiques and improve our product experiences and add them as a case study in our portfolio. I’m describing the process because unfortunately this program no longer exists and it’s unlikely that any of the current course offerings can match the level of quality from this one. I don’t recommend CDI for this reason: it’s purely theoretical and video-based, which I find is not helpful for students who want a real project to work on.

I did a call for action some time back to get people to submit their compensation on levels.fyi. I think there’s 15 data points now! www.levels.fyi/t/product-designer?countryId=254&country=254&search=conversation+designer&sortBy=total_compensation&sortOrder=ASC

Really enjoyed learning about your journey into conversation design and the challenges that come with often being the solo designer. The lack of precedent sounds daunting, but also a great opportunity to help drive the field of conversation design and to become a leader. I'd love to learn more about the kind of things you work on (process, deliverables etc) and also how you collaborate within your product teams. Looking forward to more videos :)
