There is this cool story that this guy on Reddit tells about this song. So, this dude was in a band back in the early 2000’s, and they were offered to open for Keane at this small ish pub venue called the Dublin Castle (it had a capacity of around 200 people), and they accepted the offer. So anyway, this dude decides to stick around and watches Keane soundcheck in an empty pub room, with only him and the other guys in the band and the band. Then this beautiful song comes up during soundcheck, and the guy mentions that he thought that the dude singing it (Tom Chaplin, who was I believe only 22-23 at the time) had the most incredible voice he had ever heard, and the sound of the band had managed to somehow fill up the room in a way that he had never seen before or since then. He forgot the title of the song at the time, but later on he found out that the song that he was so captivated by was this very song, Bedshaped. Did I mention that this happened on April 23rd, 2003, a year before Hopes and Dreams came out? What an incredible story, I must say.
