Keep riding.... .
I am riding yamaha sz rr, planning for this. What I noticed is yamaha is not smooth as compared to honda, the mileage is also pretty less but they offer power, I did a almost 600km ride with pillion and luggage after certain speed and rpm the engine gets very noisy felt like bike is pushing so much heating but bike performed very well the complete trip was almost 1600km I didn’t get any issues at all. The bike was 11 years old bs3. Somehow I felt like yamaha lost it’s charm they might not be refined but they were reliable.
What I feel is each manufacturer engine has a different nature to it. Honda feels smoother, sure. I didn't do much long rides with a pillion on my Yamaha, it is an R15 afterall, not meant for a pillion. But solo I've done around 450kms at a stretch for two days in a row, twice, and also my IBW & Beyond ride which was around 2250kms in all. There was never an issue with the bike, even when I had the coolant leaking, I reached from Pune to Bangalore without much of an issue. Do test ride the options in the category, like the triumph and the ktm. Also heard TVS is coming up with an adv of their own. I have now over 5.5k kms done on my Himalayan and it is so smooth, I don't feel like riding my R15! Good luck to you for future rides on your upgraded set of wheels ;)
@@ItAllStartsWithADream yes I’m still waiting for the ktm390 not sure when they will launch test rode the 400x nice bike but it felt like yamaha torque comes way too early where in himi it felt relaxed and when you need that grunt there is enough power in reserve it depends on personal preference but still himi felt much relaxed. The only issue with re is their reliability and the engine is new as well and also the weight of the bike, do you really felt the top heavy nature while cornering on the hilly roads? Does it tend to lose its balance?
which route sir?

Seat comfort , vibs, maneuvering the Himmy with pillion in traffic conditions . .
I usually don't do high speeds. The entire ride I was cruising around 80 kmph, occasional 90+ while overtaking. No vibrations for the pillion at all, some vibrations on the footpegs for me but it is totally manageable. Maneuvering was a bit easier since the added weight of the pillion and top box + panniers meant that I could flat foot the bike.. Whether in traffic or on the highway, with added weight, the bike felt more comfortable. On the return journey, the last 30-40 kms took us nearly 4 hours because of the traffic, that was a bit troublesome
So my question to you this time - how was your wife's / pillion's experience on the long ride ?
It was her first long ride so some discomfort was expected. But one thing both of us experienced was the pain in the tail bone after 150-200 kms.. For that I have now got gel seats and covered over 1k kms with them on and it made a huge difference.. yet to test the pillion gel seats.. Apart from that, the ride was very comfortable since the suspension is world class on this one..
Noted, thanks man
Good video again mate . .
Nice one. Wish I learnt to ride when I was younger.
You can learn even now
Looks amazing, how long was the Trek up?
Most of it was covered in a 4x4 Mahindra jeep, there is not much of a trek here, just some walking to do since they now have these steps everywhere
That looks really trippy, I would be worried every step 😅
Yeah, if you aren't scared of heights, you'll be fine ;)
Looks like a great piece of kit. What's the protection rating bro?
it is DOT & ECE certified as well..
Good video mate. For reference, may i know your height pls. Thanks
Thank you.. I'm 5'7
Thanks man
How challenging is it to turn the bike at almost standstill speeds?
The biggest challenge is moving it in the parking lot. At standstill speeds, it mostly depends on the surface below, if it is a concrete surface or flat smooth surface, it is not much of an issue..I've dropped the bike once because of a slope towards the side I was turning, which is also captured in the video after this one, because my right foot couldn't reach the ground in time :D Then once again, a similar slope, this time my foot reached the ground but because of the dirt, I couldn't get a grip and dropped the bike.. Both had happened before the first service mark though, now I am more used to the height & weight dynamics of the bike so now it is no longer an issue.
Thanks for a detailed insight buddy. I am sorry I do not know your name !!
Video like professional TH-camr . You deserve many subscribers really appreciate 👍

Your voice sounds like Anurag Salgaonkar ( motovlogger)
Ohh that's a huge compliment ! Thank you :) The very first motovlogs that I saw were his daily observations videos.. There are many motovloggers who have gradually transitioned to kind of lifestyle vlogs, almost all the motovloggers that I follow.. Except Anurag, he has stayed true to motovlogging and I(we all) love that about him..
@ItAllStartsWithADream exactly i love people who stick to format.. ofcourse people need to change with time to grow, but anurag has turned more humble when it people started recognising him. I hope to see you do the same and grow well. I wish you guys collab one day as energy is same ❤️ Also listen your vlog on 1.25x it really feels the same like @AnuragSalgaonkar voice and style😅

Howz the road. I am planning to go to Vadodara from Pune. Not able to decide the road which one to prefer. Satapura or Mumbai. I heard lot of work is going on like concrete making etc and traffic
There are diversions and traffic on the Mumbai route.. I avoided the mumbai traffic by leaving early but then later on the construction work and the heat alongwith the traffic was too frustrating! While returning I took the Saputara route, there wasn't much traffic & also since it goes through few forest areas, didn't feel much heat..but it took me longer to come back.. I went from vadodara-dabhoi-rajpipla-saputara-nashik-pune.. It added around 40 kms more and a few extra hours but atleast I wasn't exhausted at the end of the ride..
Nice vlog maja aaya

Good Vlog - You need to ride a bit faster ( 100 - 110), it is surely counterintuitive considering safety but it keeps your mind heavily focused towards riding. This has helped me not notice the aches & pains and also how hot it gets. Its weird but a lot of my rider buddies swear by it. Also a touring tip - The more you get off the bike, the more tired you get. Your body tends to heat up a lot more when the flow of air is less or is not there. Also, you tend to find the perfect sitting spot on the seat 50-60kms into the ride. Get off the bike and it takes a while for you to find the spot again, on a long ride this can actually lead to you getting saddle sores much faster. This may seem a little tough initially but give it time, by the 4th - 5th long ride your body will adjust For the heat - buy a cooling vest. It will help. All the best man!
Thanks for the tips man! About cruising at 100-110, I'm still not comfortable with those speeds. Slowly trying to bring my cruising speed up though. With the R15 I was comfortable around the 70s, with the Himalayan, I ride a bit higher but there's still the mental block of going triple digit. As for the touring tip, I did try it this weekend on my return trip from Mumbai.. I took just one halt because I got hungry & I was also cruising at higher speeds than what is usual for me. You are absolutely right about that sitting spot as well. Hoping to follow both your tips on my ride to IBW next week :) Thanks once again..
9:37 you are living my dream life. And when I do Sunday ride, I feel grateful when I see someone admiring the bike I have, but the feeling of wanting better has no end

Regarding the editing, I'll work on it..just switched to a new software recently, will need some time to get a total hands on. Hiring an editor doesn't seem practical to me :D
I have been thinking what I would do for a smaller ADV type bike that can go distances -- I loved riding my KDX 220 for local hops on the street but that nor my DT 250 obviously won't do it LOL. When I sold one of my big bikes last year, a Tiger 800 I thought I would get a Triumph 400X. Instead I detoured and bought a SAAB Viggen but coming back around to the small bike issue I'm pretty much sold on the Himalayan 450 in the next year. There is a company I can't remember that makes a super sounding can with decat/tune/air filter for it too. PS It's called Powerage Exhaust. Nice. PPS: How in the heck do you ride without gloves mate?
I have done a few 500km+(in a day) rides on my Himalayan with all the luggage setup(top box & panniers) & the only issue I've had is with the seat. No doubt it is comfortable but over longer distances, it is slightly painful. I'm going to get a gel seat to see if it helps. I had also considered the Triumph 400x but I wanted the bike to "feel" big, which the Himalayan does. I used to ride a Yamaha R15 before I bought this one. I was very much used to the riding position and slide protector on my gloves helped with the stress my wrists felt. The same gloves felt uncomfortable on the Himalayan in the initial days, so I thought of first getting the hang of it without gloves. Now I can wear the gloves quite comfortably and only on short rides do I skip them. :)
@@ItAllStartsWithADream Somewhere I recently saw a nice one piece seat for these look around maybe you'll find it!

Sunday ek aur video aayega..
The 390 can’t crawl. It stutters and you need to slip the clutch all the time. It’s a highly strung road bike engine, which is great in a Duke, but not off road. BTW It isn’t built in Austria, but India, with a Bajaj designed engine. 19 inch front wheel which is crap. The Himi has more travel, more ground clearance. As a travel bike the Himi is a far better bike. The 390 is Duke with slightly taller heels. Not a ADV bike. I know, I’ve owned one. I’ve got a 450 on order.
I'm close to 4k kilometres now and I can say I am very happy with my purchase.. The only downside is something I can work on myself is its weight, I just need to get stronger..lol Also, the weight is felt only while lifting it from a standstill, not while riding at all..
If you ride for IBW 2024 take the route from Karad via Anuskura ghat
Yes..while returning last year, we took the Anuskura ghat route and it was amazing. I've been to goa once this year already and took the same route, it is the better one among the few others that I've take, now it is always via Anuskura ghat :) You'll also be riding to IBW 2024 ?

Ah dude, I am from Hyderabad and used to live in Pune. Used to do Hyd-Pune up and down once a couple of months in our family car. We had fixed start time, check points, fuel fill points, sleep schedules and everything. Now that I am in the states, I long to go on that road again. Such a sense of familiarity. This december when I'm back in India, I am going to do Pune-Hyd on my hunter. Watching your videos fills me with joy as I miss these monsoon bike drives. Keep the content coming brother!
Hey thank you :) Amazing, I like that you had fixed start times and fuel fill points and everything. I usually look around the map and think of approx stoppages, it all depends on the fatigue and if it is a pillion, it can be even more random. But the road is overall very good, there are decent hotels and fuel stops all along the way. It would be a pleasant experience even in December because winter rides are also amazing :)
