tying Intruder wire onto micro shanks - no glue
มุมมอง 2K7 ปีที่แล้ว
(no audio for this demonstrative video)Have you ever had your intruder wire pull out on a big fish? The challenge with trailer hook wire on short shanks is you have a greater chance of the wire pulling out on a snag or a really big fish... it always on the biggest fish of the trip when you notice defects in your system. We've fished these and even gone as far as tying them to the end of our tru...
How to tie in intruder / trailer / articulation wire
มุมมอง 3.6K7 ปีที่แล้ว
a quick easy method for tying down trailer/intruder wire onto a shank so the hook rides strait up and the wire is secure.. so it won't pull out on a big anadromous fish. For articulated streamers and intruders or anytime you have a trailer hook. Species:Steelhead, Chinook and large trout species.
Good informative video, wish the camera was closer because we can't see what you're doing, FYI
So,, great tie, but is there an accepted length you want the hackle to go past the end of the hook? And you’re right, a nice small head on that fly,, thanks!
How does it ride hooo point up?
Great looking fly m8.
What’s the name of the fly?
Nice job Ed.
Is this fished by skating in a dryline, or is does it even matter and using a an int or s3 works just as well?
Just came across your excellent instructional video. I am located just across the straight from you, eh.. Bass on the fly are a lot of fun. Thanks for helping me get started tying these flies.
Cool popper! I thought Softex wasn't supposed to be used over foam?
Beautiful pattern Sean. You're tying is absolutely superior and so inspirational. Please post more!!!
Great!
Show how tie black and purple be helpful! Thx!
What hook is that! Did you pick a large size for the demonstration?
Great tutorial also love that Jvice
Love seeing some tips from the best. Hope these videos keep getting produced for this winter steelhead season.
Want is the hook size
Awesome! 🔥
Nice easy tie. Looks like a fish-catcher!
Geez it's like listening to yogi the bear tie a salmon fly.
I go to bjorns shop every week. Sweet fly!!! Great video!!!
nicely done , thank you.
Beautifully done Sean. Would love to see more.
Do you really need to wear your scissors like that?
That’s pretty standard dude 😂
Super Sean, thanks for tutorial. Turned out great!!
Awesome pattern!
Beautiful fly
This was the first fly I learned to tie from Mark Noble at The Greased Line Fly Shop 35 years ago. I'm horrible at tying it, but the fish don't seem to care.
Awesome fly! Thanks for the video. Have you used a bead or a cone head on this fly? I am thinking that McFly foam would be great for the head, too!
"Whatever it takes to get it up..."
Great tying and pattern concept. I'll bet this looks great swimming and can image different colors for variety of species. Thanks for your time.
Very nice tying, end result speaks for itself. Very similar to Kinney's Car Body
That’s what she said 😂 Super rad video! I feel like my muddler game just level upped !
As I expected..awesome
Sean just makes it look so effortless hahaha
I bought my very first fly fishing outfit on vacation here and its began a life long passion. I can't wait to have a chance to visit again! Very nice story with very nice folks working there.
Why did you do that? LOL. Was funny.
Great video. A lot of excellent information. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! These poppers have been extremely effective this summer for large mouth.
Wonderful dressing and instructions Sean!! Will apply the underbody technique/concept toward some trout streamers. Thanks!
Question Sean: Are you using Lagartun Tinsel or Mylar for underbody? Any preference? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! The underbody was Lagurtun, but there’s no reason you couldn’t use mylar or any other flat tinsel.
Awesome fly dressing and instruction/tips, many thanks. The underbody was particularly interesting.
Great fly construction. I can see doing this in a variety of color combinations.
Awesome!!
Great tie!! Please keep up these videos
Thank you! We have some more videos in the works, including some other guest tyers!
Fabulous tie! I think I’ll swim one here on Vancouver Island.
I’m sure this pattern will be great on the island! Let us know how it goes!
One of the best fly shops I have ever been in.
Loved this tutorial Sean!!! Please post more on spey, steelhead and salmon flies. Also, enjoyed your way of mounting the hackle tip wings. Thanks!!!!
We will definitely be doing more steelhead and salmon fly videos!
Heard you on the wet fly swing podcast. Very enjoyable. I hope you do a video on surf fishing
Thanks, Jim! We definitely will do a perch video in the future!
Thanks for this fly. I'll give it a try on the Oregon coast. Never fly fished for Surf Perch, but plan to do so. What tide is best and when during the tide? Cheers,
Let us know how you do! I find an hour after high tide on an outgoing to be the best tide for perch.
@@WatersWestFlyShop Thanks. Will do. Cheers,
tight tying and great looking fly.
Excellent dress Sean !
I thought you can't get polar bare
It’s old polar bear that’s been around for decades. Pre 1972.
