No surge made it into the harbor. The canals stayed at the same level because we only got a half inch of rain or less. For a storm surge to come in the canals the locks would have to be open.

@@StitchShifterDesigns Learned from my neighbor yesterday my boat is now sitting upright on my lot. It was in the canal and had to float over the concrete seawall. The boat weighs a little less than three thousand pounds. My neighbor was out of state, as am I, from before Helene until after Milton. Was the surge from Helene then much higher than from Milton? My lot is one canal in from the main channel and about a quarter mile east of the two large boat storage yards. I have read the county opened the lock gates before Milton arrived.

@@johnchance1959 from what I heard the canals height change was zero. No rain and less storm surge. No reports of any flooding in South cove.

@@StitchShifterDesigns Thank you. Will be down in a couple weeks. Neighbor certain my boat is sitting upright on my lot so can't understand how it happened. I thought perhaps it occurred during Helene since neither I nor my neighbor were there after Helene. Neighbor came back this week, I'm still away.

@@StitchShifterDesigns Friend sent me photos yesterday. My boat was pushed over the seawall by the surge in the canal. Not surprising people in the homes aren't reporting surge because building code required those homes to have been build well above the height of the canal seawalls. The level part of my lot is a good three feet or more above the top of the seawall. Appears my boat floated over the seawall. That would have required a surge above the seawall of more than two feet two inches, but far short of causing water to go into the homes around me.

I know especially when you sink your boat all the time.. This is coast guard regulations and Florida LAW! I try not to be a law breaker when it comes to my business so this is the way it has to be done.

Is this just a FL law? Im up in Alaska and was not informed about it being a law, just that it eases in instalation of box cushions. I'm going to have to order some up if it's a national law! @@sailingsouthlander5689 .065 is the wall thickness. Thick wall 1" it's sometimes called.

Works great. It will from time to time get a little fluffy buildup on the hook or bobbin but not very often. But I have had to clean my hook assembly a few times. Not all ptfe is the same.

Bro, I love everyone. Don't hate because someone has bought into a political party/ideal. Both "sides" feel like they are supporting leaders that they feel is best for our country. . . Obviously it's not possible with all the sheep following along with the one/two party lie. Vote 3rd party this November and heal the country.

If you cut the edge it will unravel. I would not recommend cutting the zipper unless you want to cover it with a binding. The edge of this zipper will be exposed without binding.
