Very to see these come to life! Brings back memories as a kid watching Jacques Cousteau and building the Revelle Calypso model.

Amazing kit. I've had my eye on it for awhile, but feel like it would take me an eternity to print out all those parts even at the default size. Lol. Really wish I could just get a fully printed kit like you got.

Glad to see this being made available. I have the Revell 1/125 scale Calypso waiting in my stash when I get a resin printer to upgrade some of the detail. Thanks for putting this out there and also thank you to Randy Cooper (been watching his progress on the saucer as well)

I've built two of these as commissions, but it was the nice n models version.

This is a fantastic kit! I'd love to get the studio scale version.. although my wife might have a problem with that 🤔

They really should have revised the bottom hull for the additional landing gear seen in Empire Strikes Back. Nothing like an MPC falcon to make a person realize how much they suck at weathering 😂

I can scratch build my own Death Star Gun Towers for a helluva lot cheaper than your 3D model and I can surface detail it way more,plus,I can make it any scale and size.Making a 3D kit is sometimes a ripoff.

Got to work with people who worked with the original models. Love that in the movie you can clearly see the 'grain of wheat' bulbs at the end of the barrels of the models between laser blasts.

Should show just still photos that are close up ones. Those will show the details, so you don’t have to get up to the camera, and not worry about being out-of-focus. Plus you can do a voiceover to explain the product.

At 1/2600, a 4-foot (1.20-meter) window would have a diameter of about 0.5 mm, which is as low as I would like to go with a small drill and fiber-optics. Should look about right.

Hi Randy, this tutorial video of the major completion stage of the Kilowatt lower half with all of the electronics is truly wonderful. Thanks so much for your great lighting system kit for this model, I just caon't wait to install it in my Goldem Armore Kilowatt. The end result of all your patience, engineering and hard work is so good! I was initially so apprehensive about a lighting effect system, but your kit takes away all of the guesswork, and it should make fitting into the model much easier than if I otherwise tried to piece-meal all the various parts. Wonder what the original model used? Probably a few bulbs and a small motor in the middle rotating a cylinder around the center bulb to give the rotation of the light?

Sometimes, the fibers are also just great for added effects. In the Gundam model builder world, people often use them (with some airbrushed color) to simulate sparks when something's damaged severely. Though when only that little is needed, we usually just scrap one of those Chinese fiber-optic lamps for parts.

I have a question. I just recently purchased the Lighting kit for the MPC ROUND 2 MILLENNIUM FALCON. How do you open the battery box?

I'm just a fan of such models that are already great by themself, but also designed with opportunities for customization im mind. Sometimes it's just channels and compartments for electronics and sometimes it's as user-friendly as this kit, where you could even electo-plate bits separately.
