Walking Vancouver Island
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 ม.ค. 2023
When the pandemic started in 2020, my partner and I started exploring parks in the south island area every weekend (and in the mid and north island areas when on road trips). We quickly found some favourites and now have visited over 160.
Please visit our website (linked below). Feel free to send me your favourite parks and we will add them to our 'to be explored list'. You just might see one of your suggestions appear on this site.

@@feifei-sweetcat Thank you!
Awesome. That park looks wicked.
Stunning views indeed!! Picture perfect!!
the most amazing part of taking in this area would be checking out all the amazing driftwood as one never finds what will be found, maybe even a secret gem! Wonderful stuff!!
@@wendingourway Thanks! There are a few driftwood artists on the island and some of their work is on display in a few parks.
BIG LIKE 5 for you from all the way across Canada. We are watching and walking along with you from Newfoundland! Full Watch full Friendship! Beautiful coastal community!
@@gbltheolechurch5acrehomestead Thanks for joining us
Very beautiful place, thanks for sharing and have a nice day 👍5🙂
👍👍
Always wonderful to see these little green spots around for locals to enjoy in particular!
That would be my happy place for sure! Sunflowers are my ultimate favourite!! Beautiful!!
And so many bees! The trails seemed to be endless.
Those ocean side walkways are amazing!!
@@wendingourway It's a great place to wander. There is a little gazebo at one of the corners with a bench for ducking out of the rain. It rains every time we go there for some reason 🤣.
Another wonderful area to get out and explore!! Always amazed by the size of the driftwood!
Sometimes trees with root structures wash ashore!
Saanich looks amazing. Thanks for taking us on the walk! Have a great week.
@@DCOutdoors It is! Lots of great places just like this one to explore.
Always enjoy those amazing views from that side of the island with those gorgeous mountains!
@@wendingourway Me too! I still can't believe some of the places we find on our weekends out exploring.
So many lovely clips! Greetings from a Swedish youtuber! 🇸🇪
@@Daniel_Oberg Thank you so much!
What an absolutely marvelous area! I can see that becoming a favourite!
@@wendingourway It's very peaceful. Thanks to Walking with Bruce for alerting us to this area!
Beautiful!!!!
Great vibes, nice video New supporter friend here.like 3
Now that sure is a lovely one!! Look at those wonderful blooms!!
Yes, it's quite amazing to walk through during the spring 🪻
Wonderful to hear about donated lands that are eventually protected and trails built for all to enjoy!
What a nice video. Super chill!
Thanks 👍
Another awesome local park for residents to escape to...wonderful to have those views to recharge the mind. Keep them coming as they are well enjoyed!
Thanks Bruce! Will try and work on my video backlog. Have a great week!
Hello from Naples, Florida. Very nice!! Love, love the ducks. Thanks for sharing the amazing views with us, have a great weekend 👍 💯 ❤
Thanks for watching!
Like 3 👍 💯 ❤
What a lovely little oasis...great to see a picnic table and bench too...placed perfectly to watch all the duck activity!! Wonderful!!
Thanks Bruce. When we passed by the duck pond a bit later on in our visit, someone was feeding the ducks. Let's just say I think all the neighbouring ducks must have flown in because it was pretty hectic!
What an awesome park and trails are well maintained Thanks for taking us along
Thanks for watching!
Very cool that Emily Carr used to sketch here!
Very nice walk 🌳🌳
Thanks 👍
What a great legacy for the Till family!!
Yes! Mrs. Till even asked for the playground to be built so local children had a place to play.
I was thinking the same thing Bruce
Even a quick stroll can make a world of different in a person's day! Wonderful to see picnic table too in these areas!!
The art installation of the wolves was pretty cool! Your intro was fantastic also! Looks like a nice place to walk. The interpretive signs are a good addition.
Thank you. The wolves are headed to the outline of a buck (you can see it briefly in one of the still shots). Intro is by the amazing JoAnne Salmon. Link in description.
Great wander indeed!!
Oh wow, what a great little area! Perfect for a quick jaunt down to the water without a whole lot of trouble. Good stuff!!
Yes, great spot to relax and enjoy the view
Thanks for taking us on the walk. It looked beautiful.
Thanks. Even better now without the fog!
A great loop trail...such an amazing walk for any one living in the neighbourhood! A fishing pier too...how great is that!
I just bought a fishing rod so will have to go fishing when it warms up
A great little park...just perfect for spending some time down by the shore...great tidbit of Emily Carr history too! Have yourself a great upcoming weekend!
Thank you. Just finishing up school so I will be publishing more videos soon. Have a great weekend too!
What a wonderful walk!!! and the intro is awesome!!!
Thanks! My favourite is the white bunny at the end.
@@walkingvancouverisland :-) and the fish, be careful Joe may want to catch the fish!!
A wonderful area! I could see that there would be a little washing of Otis' white paws after visiting on this day! LOL Great to have such areas to explore!!
Yes! When we were leaving the flooded area with the birdhouse, a dog went running by and went right into the water. We started walking faster as dogs tend to like to jump on us after they go swimming 😁.
Parker Park looks lovely. I miss those fall colours. We are deep in the snow here in Alberta. The pictures of the sun through the clouds by the water were amazing. Looks like a relaxing area to explore.
Hope the snow goes away soon!
Hello! 👋 Bruce and Otis sent me over. I love supporting other outdoor TH-cam creators, especially ones from Canada. I'm over in Edmonton, Alberta. The island seems so beautiful. Never been there, but I hope to go someday. You earned my subscription.
Thanks so much. I've subscribed to your channel. Keep an eye on my channel as I will be releasing a new intro soon 😁. Love Edmonton!
Just looks so so relaxing. Great video. Warm wishes from Millionaire Paul :) MDBC

That was fun great music. I really enjoy that little park especially when you walk through Summer Gate. Bruce
Thanks Bruce. We're heading to Denham Till Park, Green Park and possibly Willow Way Trail this weekend. Hoping for ok weather!
Always appreciate areas that even have smaller green spaces and parks to get out and enjoy! Awesome! Bruce and Otis
Thanks Bruce. I shared your video of Otis enjoying his Christmas dinner with my folks. They loved it!
Any walk that takes me by water, especially the ocean, is a wonderful walk indeed! Awesome stuff!! Bruce and Otis
Thanks!
