Great teaching…thank you very much much
I can't find this game anywhere..😢
Hopefully you can soon. It seems readily available in the US.
@lightrangergames9354 I'm in Europe, but I thought it was out of print.
@@Peregrin3 They recently came out with a reprint. Unfortunately I don't know availability outside of the US :(
Thanks for the update.😎
Fire review
Agreed massive darkness 2 is the best!
Dude this video is awesome. Keep putting them out.
That looks good!
i have never been more disappointed in a game than gloomhaven. i live in china and went to so much trouble to lug that thing halfway around the world, and it made my luggage overweight so they charged me an extra hundred bucks. when i finally got it to the table, i discovered its not an adventure game, its a deck building puzle game. its not suited for multiple players, because typically there is one way to succeed in a scenario, so there is always one person that takes the lead and makes the decisions. i am not a fan of deckbuilders, so it really wasnt for me
Nice explanation! Thank you!
Thank you for this video! It's been very helpful so far
Very good, This and one other video on this topic have been above and beyond helpful. Thank you for keeping it short and tight.
Great video. Thank you for the over/view- reviews. There is a saying “there are never too many games to play” while that maybe be true.. it sure is daunting to just pick a title, there’s just so many. So your list is nice 👌 I like talisman as an easy party game. I also appreciate how you’ve rated the playability alone since it’s not always easy to gather a party and certain games are complex enough that a couple of play throughs are warranted for a thorough understanding of the pacing, mechanics etc.
I know I am late to the part but I had to point out @ 2:26 "You will still be collecting a ton of loot" *places his hand on the card with the lute*
16:58 According to posts on BGG, Friday may not use the tokens he would get from a failed roll to reroll.
The rewards for completing sections of the temple are not different for the different sections, you do all 3 rewards every time any section is completed.
I think it is important to remove the 10 of each cube from the bag before placing the rubble, to keep the appropriate ratio/chance of gold being placed as rubble. If you leave them in the bag while placing it throws the intended ratios off.
YOU ARE AWESOME! ❤❤❤
Great video. Love your tone and pace.
YOU ARE AWESOME! ❤❤❤
Thanks.
This is a much more straight forward let's-play video than the official one. Very educational!! 🎉
Glad it helped.
Very clear explanation, thanks! Finally going to give the TMB expansion a try.
I'm interested into solo dungeon RPGs, but rather than buying these I'm slowly making one huge. Gloomhaven seems to catch the atmosphere for me, but imo it has major flaws too. 1. Square or hexagon, both enforce certain structure - my D&D maps are made out of circle tokens, movement through connection points. You can make your own maps, you can follow any angle or number of movement options up to six. 2. Literally no randomness should take place, because every scenario should have a solution to it, which can be written down, with goal of completing it in as few moves as possible, so you adjust pre-fight preparation time to the strength of enemies and always end up winning on the edge of death. 3. All these games take too much time, in my case it's easy to go through, brain-eater is to write down an unbeatable record and it's on players how seriously they take it. You can use as many expansions as you want, adding the depth to the game, but you must write it on first line of your solution. Once someone finds solution they think can be the fastest, they write number of moves into the scenario, so for other players that's a challenge to find it, or beat it. 4. In my version, since it's D&D, scenario only limits you in how many heroes you use. Their avatar+name tokens, their backstory, investment in their stats and abilities are up to your adjustment, according to obstacles they're about to face. You can make cooperating machine, or prepare for split of the party etc. 5. You can play one scenario, or connect more of them into campaign. If campaign-maker doesn't like that player must write down moves, he has to do more work: training and healing paid in moves should be disallowed and campaign-creator must find out how strong enemies should be, which materials should only be available etc. to ideally leave only one option how to prepare for critical obstacles, leaving space for mistakes between them. So my game allows you to make campaign where challenge is to just make it through - how games usually are set up - but I argue that's in fact the ultimate major flaw in games, it kills joy to create your own campaigns, makes it too hard, so you rather end up buying new games instead. For solo it is much better to be able to create quickly your own campaigns and play them without knowledge what the solution is, even though you made them. D&D with plenty of combinations, no Randomness and no need for Dungeon Master. Because great game is not just about taking player to whole new world. It is about set of rules and components by which worlds are not only lived through, but easily created by players themselves.
This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for. Thank you for all the suggestions and descriptions.
Yo man, thanks for this video! There’s so few pure setup videos out there.
I appreciate these instructions. One thing that was unclear to me was if a player can keep drawing and playing out their turn until they decide to discard, or if they can only draw a maximum of two cards per turn.
You only draw 2 tiles once at the start of your turn, then you can play as many tiles as you can on your own castle OR you can attack an opponents castle (or you pass). Then your turn ends. At the end of a turn, you always discard down to 4 cards if needed. Hope that helps.
That was an amazing video! Having the games all set up,instead of just describing them Great Job!
LightRanger Games, can we collab
LightRanger Games, cool video keep up the great content
I didn't back the new Kickstarter and was thinking that I missed out because the new introductory campaign would've brought me to try my own old copy of the game.. But I think the intro scenarios you've shared here are also pretty good. I'll give them a shot. Thanks :)
I hope you enjoy them.
Great. I have rarely seen such a good overview of selected dungeon crawlers. What I particularly liked: All crawlers were compared using a fixed scheme of important criteria. In addition, the reasons why the game could be number one for me personally and why it didn't land in first place for you. Very informative. Thank you!!! I subscribed to the channel immediately. TH-cam content with useful content. Very nice.
Thanks :) I'm glad it was helpful.
It looks like an interesting game. Thank you light ranger. 🙂
Thanks. It is an interesting game.
Just found this channel! Nifty stuff
Thanks.
Appreciate a solo friendly review. I am hunting for something new.
Thanks for the video! Would this list be the same if not based on solo play? Thanks.
MD1 = 70% (nice short Dungeon Crawler), MD2 = 65% (The game wants to be too much, too much material (like Gloomhaven) for this short game with few scenarios, few classes too shaky . It would be better if the simple MD1 was continued in MD2 with additional boss fights). MD2 is my weakest game in my collection, but I've already painted 90% of it. I have everything from MD1 98% painted (including KS) and MD2 Core game, Heavenfall, Feyfolk, Hell Gate, Monks+Necro, Thinkerer+Bards, Druids+ Nagas (KS)+ 3 bosses (KS), Upgarde, Zombicide Upgrade
what if i kill one and not the other, do i still stay on that space or do i have to go to the place before entering?
I find it frustrating when creators don’t add proper titles to their video timestamps. It makes me less inclined to watch a 50-minute video.
This channel deserves way more subscribers.
Nice list. Keep the heroes out for me 's little less drungeon crawler. Got also some tower defence in it. Bloodborne is interesting to. And for 1vs1 Claustrophobia. For the rest i think i whould join all on the list.
Dungeon Maker Deluxe is also a euro-style game on the dungeon-crawler theme. Definitely very puzzly and euro.
Great video my friend
Mage Knight is NOT a dungeon crawler it's a puzzle game for me. Sadly :( i thought it was like a might and magic game with exploration and stuff but NOPE time limit
Great video, really informative. I appreciated your approach and rating style!
Thanks
I love MD2, it's my favorite game and I'm a huge fan of solo play. I bought the upgrade kit and the MD1 now to expand the universe. I didn't even think about playing MD1 anyway, but now I'll try
Cool. Enjoy playing.
What about heroquest?
Unfortunately haven't played it.
thank you for taking the time to compile the differences, this was very useful!
Glad it's useful
Mage Knight 🔝🔝🔝👊🏼🇧🇷 Great Vídeo...
what cardboard stock are you using?
I just use standard 65 lb cardstock that you can get at places like office depot or even walmart.
@@lightrangergames9354 That's great. Im from Europe. I wonder what is the equivalent of that stock.
@@SeniorAdrian Yeah, I don't know, but I think just about any thicker paper will work. It's pretty easy to do :)
@@SeniorAdrian65 lb = 176 gsm
Great job. I like your grading system. Gave me some new ideas. Thanks.
Thanks :)
What do you think about the Tiny Epic Dungeons Boardgame?
I haven't had a chance to play that one yet.
Thanks for the video. I really want Massive Darkness 2. I like that you didn't just pick "pure" dungeon crawlers
Thanks.
