just wish lambretta and Vespa piaggio would start making stylish scooters again because they are all so expensive and rare especially down under but we all know if they did they would probably be electric powered haha
There are Tons of scooter clubs in the UK. Not so much in America because 1%er Illegal Bikers like the hells Angels Own all the states. You cannot start a simple MC or scooter club in the US without their permission or they will kill you. No Joke. All the cops are afraid of them.
Great video guys had 3 sx 150 in the 70s live in the midlands once went to blackpool met some guys from manchester who nos could have been one of you keep on keeping on keep the faith
The legendary GS 160 is an imposing looking scooter, it's amazing to see how it scales to the new GTS generation, which looks gigantic next to it and dwarfs it.
Yeah, i noticed that straight away, amazing how much taller it is. Thats whats noticeable when im on holiday, I'm not the tallest person, and i get cramp in my feet, tiptoeing on these new style twist and go scooters 😂, but not ridden a new style vespa, in fact, last scooter i rode, was a GP150, that my arse dad brought about 12 yrs ago, to try win favour with me. He promised he'd do a little tidying, then give it to me.. Then sold it 3 months later! 😭. I haven't spoken to him since 🤷🏻♂️😂
Very nice video of a great scooter club nice one Gaz good to see the young guns joining a decent club hope to see you all on the road again as soon as covid let's us. Paddy from the Northern Templars sc
I reckon this is why a lot of clubs struggle. I ride scooters and bikes. The only club I felt comfortable in is R/C that specifically sells itself as being inclusive, it's a private club in that membership is by referral only, but racism and sexism are specifically forbidden. We have about 20% women riders, no non-white riders yet. I have attended ride outs with scooter clubs and met some cool people, but racism, sexism and bigotry is rife. I think perhaps because the membership are that bit older. I (a middle aged white dude) wouldn't choose to hang out with racists, I can't see why Blacks and Asians would choose to either. I know some are going to dismiss this as wokeness. I don't care quite frankly. The only club I ride scooters with has a member who isn't white. I have not joined them just because of time constraints, they seem friendlier and also seem to attract consistent numbers to their ride outs. Not saying the Night Owls are racists, I don't know them. But the perception of the whole scooter and bike scene is it isn't inclusive.
I remember 1989 being a great year on the rally scene but by 1990 something changed it did feel the seem...I wonder if it was age or people getting Rave amongst other things ?
Great to see things still going - lads from yesteryear keep on keeping on. just great to see. Even though a bit too many twist and go's for my liking Haha. Nice one Nite Owls!! KTF!!
If don't have hand clutch gear head set and foot break it's not a proper scooter, theirs things you can do with a clutch that are fun, once you get used whatever side the foot break pulls to you'll be set up proper like.
Cheers luv!
How’s the scene these days? What’s it like for under 50s that ain’t into the northern soul / ska stuff?
It’s the music that keeps young lads away! I go to the rally’s for the scooters I think the music is shite
Good to see apart from the crappy plastic red Vespa
Just found this video and Stefan pops up.

at 53 I'm getting into scooters just now. No interest in a motorcycle with a manual clutch. I'll be scooter till I die.

I used to see a bunch of scooterists 1974 -75. Scooter boys were thin on the ground then, after the 60s boom and before the late 70s revival.
What area where you from in that period ?
Awesome Video. I'm 22 and it's really nice to see some other youngens into scooters. Haha.

Do u have brain 🧠 damage????
Fair enough, different strokes for different folks innit.
How come no blacks or Asians 💁🏿♂️
To be fair you don't see many on kawasaki either. Probably a cultural thing rather than racial
You get loads of Asians into Scooters.....in India ;)
