We are entering the rainy season in the Philippines! The RentpadTV team has been curious about what staycations will be like once we hit the Monsoon Season, and today, we got our answer.
If you’re not familiar with the weather in the Philippines, we get an average of 19-20 typhoons each year, sometimes more. As our summers get very intense, so does our rainy season. Sanay na tayo sa saying na when it rains, let’s hope you know how to swim. Joke lang, but as it does get quite intense, most of us just stay indoors ---and interestingly enough, that’s a strong point of staycations - you get to see something new, and you get a chance to stay indoors.
Samahan nyo kami in this week’s episode where we hunker down to stay dry and try to enjoy the rains. and the view.
First off, I want to say, not everybody has a chance to enjoy the rain. And before we do, we want to take a moment to recognize that it’s not the same for everyone, and I sincerely hope everyone gets the chance to get some reprieve from the rain. It’s like that moment in Parasite where the lady sees the rain as a blessing blindly. We’re grateful but also recognize it's not a blessing for everyone.
This time, we are treated to a Loft-type, corner condo unit in Circulo Verde. We were greeted by a double-door entrance, followed by a living room with a high ceiling and a lot of windows. It really makes the space feel bigger and helps to let all the light in during daytime. In the evening, you get astonishing views of the city lights and the mountains of nearby suburban areas, the roads as the traffic starts to dwindle and become empty, and the other properties with all their lights and quirks.
What’s interesting about this unit are all the balconies - yes plural. We have one right outside the living area that gives you a 90-degree view and one in the bedroom. This gives you a variety of views so you can choose which one is the most relaxing for you. And they have plants! I’m so happy.
It has been raining so we couldn’t stay outdoors and enjoy the breeze but the huge windows allowed us to still have a view and stay dry even when it was raining
Moving on to the kitchen, we have some basic kitchen accessories where you can do some cooking and a fridge to store your food. Circulo Verde is near Eastwood City so you can pop in there to get groceries or grab lunch. That also means there are a ton of delivery options. They also have a few options downstairs - there are a few restaurants, a coffee shop, and a 24/7 convenience store if you feel like walking around.
They don’t have a coffee maker, but they do have a water heater so you just need to bring your coffee. This time, we’ve come prepared and they do have a table for us, so let’s brew some to chase those rainy blues away.
This place offers a few places where you can work or just chill.
The Master’s bedroom has a murphy bed! In the morning it’s a sofa where you can watch Netflix on a 55-inch TV. At night, it’s a king-size bed where you can watch more. This room also has a balcony!
Right beside the bedroom is a bathroom with a water heater and your basic toiletries. They have some towels, bath soap, shampoo, and a bidet.
Upstairs in the loft is the second bedroom with its own A/C and--you guessed it - its own balcony.
Also in the loft is bathroom number 2 and another sofa where you are treated to some majestic views.
And we won’t forget, the Mark check! Mark is 5’11 and he’s here to test how our taller population can enjoy the beds this place has to offer.
