Yes, I use to work at PetSmart as a teenager, and the sick room (which is where lots of sick animals that can't be sold, full of parasites and maggots in thier butt! And of course the freezer of so many deceased animals) Most all petstores get all of their pets from puppy mill type operations that are extremely dirty, neglected and sick animals. Chances of getting a healthy pet from a pet store is 50/50 or less and that is bad odds. And the worst thing is the neglect and suffering they put the parents of your petstore animals through just to breed them in mass quantities and make money.

This is a year ago when said I got my max from Petco and I live in Washington DC so my max is still going strong so Petco at that time my tortoise is hanging strong a having fun don't know what Petco you want to but mine is still good enjoy your day ya'll are young man back then max is good here in DC

someone has to adopt the sick ones and CARE for em, and PRAY them to be WELL AGAIN in JESUS mighty name..PRAYER truely does work yall,..try it!! I cause MIRACLES to occur ALL the time in JESUS name! I prefer to buy/help the SICK ones, the sick,injured animals cuz there the ones who need it the MOST!! Only the sick need a doctor as JESUS said! 3-2-24 4:37pm

Hi ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN PURCHASE THIS TYPE OF TORT FOOD opposed to regular kiwi, mango, butternut etc. I found aloe ONCE but only got one since I didn’t want it going bad. Also cactus pads and edible flowers would be nice too. Thanks in advance

I know this was forever ago, but I just adopted 2 Russian tortoises from a coworker (they were bought for her three year old). They’re in the same enclosure. This is my first night 🥶 They came with almost nothing! Just some lettuce and an enclosure… no hides, stones, no info on soaking, a lamp with a bulb (I did identify)… Bless you. I do feel rushed because they’re HERE lol. But yes, don’t stress… I already have better foods in-the-mail…. But I have a long way to go to treat these guys like family. To anyone- Please reach out if you can help!

Thankyou for the advice, I've got a Russian tortoise, I acquired him after his owner died, I use edible bedding and aspen, but was told dont use aspen, I only used it as his owner used it and I kept it the same, I stress all the time that I'm doing right by him, I've read loads of information and can be confusing, should I change to straw instead, thankyou sharon from uk

I agree with this video 100%. I am a first time Russian tortoise keeper and I've done so much research and I've heard everyone talking about how bad PetSmart is. luckily I went the route of buying one online I got him from Tortstork and he has had no health issues and I'm very thankful.

Southern Reptiles is an amazing breeder as well. I bout an Eastern Hermanns as a hatchling and they young guy is very lively. With such satisfaction I will be adopting another one. Oh yea, check Southern Reptiles on their TH-cam channel and online.

I'm not American I don't live in America but I know that pet smart has abused there animals cause I have seen vids of people saving beardies from there

I currently have mine in a tank I have a cat and worry about a open habitat I was thinking about a wood raised garden bed w/ legs he's so active outside his habitat but in it he likes to hide and burrow I just want a happy healthy tortellini!

Just to make this clear everyone has an opinion that they think they’re right but not at all times it’s a lie spread I got my Russian tortoise at petsmart and it’s very healthy and no they get them from the farm and if they get them wild caught that shouldn’t be a problem petsmart is actually the best place to go to and you can trust me on this one make your research contact a specialist don’t contact employees

If you buy a 3 year old turtle, and you have owned the said turtle for 5 years, therefore you have a 8 year old turtle! Now I want you to go attend an basic mathematics class and pretend its all about turtles and tortoises,absorb all the information, because if you pay attention to detail like how you do with the turtles, shit You might become a rocket scientist!
