Historically speaking here is the short version of this war: Persia invaded Greece for retribution for assisting Greeks friendly in western Turkey that they quashed, Persia invaded Marathon then defeated by Athenians, then of course Sparta walloped Persia in Thermopylae until a traitor helped Persia to pincer the Spartans and while the movie Leonidas went down fighting he was struck and killed during battle. Persia in the sequel invaded and destroyed Athens while also killing citizens while historical records say that Persia arrived at a deserted Athens so they pillaged everything. While they did defeat Persia in the end Athens and Sparta looked at each other like that scene with Korra and that woman giving "I’m watching you" looks then both of them turned to Persia for financial support during the Peloponnesian War.
