Thanks Rach, it is the video that took me the longest time to edit, so I'm glad it managed to capture the weekend feels. I didn't finish Newport, had a solid first half then sadly was sick a couple of times. Took the choice to bail out just after half way instead of killing myself. I wasn't too keen on the new route. I'll live to fight another day :) Just booked Chester Marathon for October though, so that is next challenge.

@@garymacalister - a double marathon is always hard. I found that out the hard way last year 😁 Hope you’re feeling better now. I know Chester is a popular marathon. A bit early to start training yet, but good luck with the new build up to get ready for Autumn!

Yeah, used it as a test exercise for fueling and didn't work. Well done on your run - I'll keep an eye out for the video. Did I miss out featuring again 😂!

There will be a Boston Video. I have loads of footage, just working out the best way to put it together. It will be a big one.

There are three in Boston and the surrounding towns. In addition to Danehy Park in Cambridge, there's Jamaica Pond and the new Cutler Park (trail run) in Needham, just off Rt. 95.

@@pquirk99 one of the weekend's big decisions was which one to choose! In the end Danehy was not far from the Red T-Line in Alewife, so I could get there directly from where I was staying. I hear Jamaica Pond had 450+ runners which was crazy!

This one actually started in 2012! It was there 557th event when we went. There are not many UK parkruns as old as this one.

You should go and visit, it is fab!

Hiya @joelmead1041 I ran in road shoes this time and in 2023 as well. Most of the route is on firm compact cycle track. The first 300m or so can be muddy around the field but other that that you should be okay in road shoes. If it rains or is very wet though that may change as it can get a bit slippery. Good luck :)

Thank you 😀 It is a stunning city and a perfect place for a winter marathon. Definitely add it to your to do bucket list! I'd say enter it soon whilst you can still buy your entry. With the speed it is growing in popularity I can see it become a ballot or qualification race soon.

Hiya Joel - Honestly, for the winter route you will be fine in road shoes (in my experience). The 300m loop around the field can be wet and muddy and you may slip on those sections, but that is about 600m in total over the 5k route. Depends on how willing you are to get your supershoes dirty :) For the normal route there is a lot more grass. I do still normally run in road shoes but usually normal ones and not super shoes. It does all depends on which course they are running so best to check with the event FB page before you go. I hope this helps.

Hi Claire, this one specifically is a team event. There are other events i know that do parts or all of the Cotswold way, like www.ultrachallenge.com , and they might have some options that work for you. Good luck with running it 🙂

Indeed it was, but seems like everyone had a fab time and that is all that parkrun is about.

Thank you. Yep, blue HydraPak one and £12 a pop as well! I could have stopped to get it but when you are so focussed on a time you just let it pass. At the time I was still very much on for a sub 3. The Kiprun shorts are fab but took a while to find, i've tried a few different brands to carry my flasks and these have been the best but slightly fiddly when you are tired & moving at speed i've discovered! I've enjoyed a lazy few days this week, but back to the grind soon!

@@garymacalister - not sure which version your shorts are but my run tights have stretchy pockets at the front and side (as well as the back) it’s so much easier with them at the front. They do a short version under the ‘trail running’ section which have the same pocket layout.

Yes they do. My wave had pacers for 18:30, 19:30 and 20:30 if I remember correctly. The elite waves had pacers leading out the sub 14 guys! It is a fabulous event, well worth a visit.

It is a gorgeous route, very lucky to have it on the doorstep of my in-laws. The shoes are still fantastic even with a few hundren km in them now. Very happy i tried them :)

Thank you. I really did enjoy the atmosphere on the run. I've recommended it to everyone that has asked about it. I wasn't fast enough for a hoodie sadly, but i'm happily wearing the finishers t-shirt :)
