When you know that cans were made of tin back then, it legit becomes one of the funniest scenes you ever seen in a movie.

When I was a young kid watching Jaws, I used to roll my eyes and urge these scenes along... get me back to the shark! Now it's just the opposite. The shark is now just the delivery vehicle for the fascinating interplay of personalities... and the most fascinating of all is the way Quint, Brody, and Hooper all interrelate.

These Are the three famous men in Jaws movies they are Roy Schieder Martin Brody Robert Shaw Quint Richard Dreyfus Matt Hooper In Quint's Character He was The last victim to his Shark attack and still forgets to listen sometimes In Matt Hooper's Character is the one who was in the Shark cage under water while the Shark comes after him In Martin Brody's Character he kinda made a huge mistake on public beach he was humiliated by the Towns people in Jaws 2 false alert scene not being trusted in Martin that's very disrespectful to him Martin would never hurt or harm anyone he was trying to protect and rescue his people from Shark attacks he is doing the right thing he can be very overly cautious about everybody firing Martin is the worst thing to happen don't trust Larry he is very dispical towards Martin he was telling the truth about the Shark he is Right its the mayor's fault for not agreeing with him you are a mayor of Shark city are you crazy what Larry and the mayor is doing is the worst and the wrong reasons for making fun of Martin Brody that's why Martin's angry eyes on them for not having any faith in him I honestly believe in Martin he's a very attractive young man Martin Brody is the one who killed the Shark not Quint is because Quint is already dead Hooper is under water in the Shark cage with a spear Martin had to kill Jaws himself on his own he fought his nemesis and took Bruce down into explosion chief Martin Brody is a true hero in his Heroic ways

I remember watching this as a kid, the only thing I got from this scene was Hooper making funny faces. I was just waiting for some more shark action and then started laughing at his faces, not understanding any of the dialogue

Knowing Shaw's reputation, he probably did chug a can of 'gansett... he may have even suggested that scene.

Oh how does the meter of life tic ⏰? I remember I went to University Twin Cinema 🎥 at LSU don't ask University Twin Cinema is long gone but I went to see this movie in July of 1975 with my brother and my first cousin. I was 13 my cousin was 15 and my brother was 17. It was fantastic it was electric ⚡ it was special back then. Movie theaters with 2 screens are long gone now. Now I'm 62 about to be 63 later this month in September and it seems like watching that movie was only yesterday. Oh how the years go by 😮. Jaws a special movie 🍿🎥 and always will be!

Although I love Quint, I have to say Hooper wins this scene, and I've always felt it. He has this I don't give a fuck attitude. It's as if Hooper is saying: "So, you crushed a can. Here, I'll crush tin plastic. It doesn't mean you're better than me!"

Apparently Robert Shaw was shit-faced during filming. Talk about method acting. RIP

Liberals Vs Conservatives in a nutshell. Hooper is the educated city dwelling liberal who just believes what he was taught, Quint is the is the rural, blue collar conservative who uses his intuition which he gained through decades of experience.
