just found this channel. I've been playing other genres for years....my dad is a SUPER tejano guitar player....I'm not...I'm rocking out other things. I wanna finally learn my dad lives far away and maybe I think he will be surprised if I start playing tejano licks cleanly and smoothly. Then I can finally understand all the things he plays lol. So glad to find this channel. One vid down so far about tips to playing tejano. I'm from CC, Tx area so I'm not so far away haha nice to see you are from SA.

Tony, eres un maestro! It's going to take an eternity and a next life time for me to learn that guitar chording and lead. Would it be an injustice to the song if you simplified it? I am just a plugger, but I love the song. Simple is better for me at this point in time. My voice will do it justice, lol. Singing a song and playing good rhyme is a totally different skill set. So, I need a simple version. ( I love all the pretty chords, but it's a tough long struggle to get all that in the song and sing at the same time.)

I get what you’re saying about sound and tone but your “just right” was still too dark and muddy. It’ll get lost in a mix. The first one you said was too bright, was just about right. Might be the difference of what you’re hearing THERE LIVE as opposed to what I’m hearing on these Airpods on my iphone. Great video and great points. 🤙🏼

One time during Covid I went to the Intocable Drive In Concert in Poteet, TX. Let's just say I had been partying hard and when I woke up the next morning in Houston, TX I realized I did not have my phone. I turned the Find My Phone and drove all the way back, it ended up being picked up and it was at the David Lee Garza y Los Musicales Ranch. Someone had turned it in and the drummer's wife had been working that event. I thought it was huge coincidence bc my dad wrote Ya Me Cause and David Lee recorded back in the day. The End
