Don’s jewelry making and Japan Travels
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 ต.ค. 2011
This channel is about the making of jewelry and travels around Japan. I’ve been a designer and jewelry craftsman for over 35 years. Worked for all the major retailers in the US and traveled just about everywhere in the US making jewelry. Also traveled in Japan found demonstration on making jewelry as well for many years. This channel gives a small look at both those. Hope you enjoy watching and hopefully will get a little something from them as well.
Will also be sharing my experiences in Jewelry CAD designing and making the transition from Matrix 9 to Matrix Gold. I will be uploading Gemvision Matrix 9 and MatrixGold how to videos in order for you to have a better understanding of the program and design techniques. I attended several in house class lessons and hope to pass the knowledge on to you. Matrix 9 is an awesome designing software and MatrixGold just adds another dimension for you to explore.
Safe travels and good designing!

Thanks a lot Don.
I made this video complete. But there is a problem. If you smartflow the design, then make intersection its ok. You get a closed polysurface. Then mirror that also ok. You get two pieces of closed polysurface. Then boolean them the result is open polysurface. I analysed it. In the middle of the two pieces where you booelean them is by one side an opening. How do we have to solve this?
Can you give me the time in the video where you are talking about? I'll check it out.
Nice work. I’ve done similar but I’d sweep1 I always forget about loft

/Thanks
Thank you so much for this! 😊
No problem 😊Hope it helps. Thanks for your support and comment.
BLESS you!! Thank you soooo sooo much!
Thanks Don for the long Video. Amazing as always
What's the easiest way to find your job bogs?
They should be on the side bar. If not, you can click on the M at the top left, it will give you two drop down menus. click on view and it will give you a list of all the side bar items you can have displayed. Find the one that says projects and make sure it has a checkmark. It then will be displayed in the side bar. It will have your job bags and full saves as well as a folder icon that you can click to see a list of all your saved items and projects. You can also access your collections from that folder icon.
It's been a long time and we miss you. Thanks a lot Don.
Good instruction. I was thinking of other ways to do the Channel cutter (the parametric command exists by the way) but it's good to know why and how to use this function. Good tutorial again Donald thank you
Thanks for the video! when I go adjust a curve the geometry does not follow? Why would that be? edit* Dynamic loft allows me to do this. Curve network does not.
I learned a lot off from your videos.thnx a lot…
Appreciate your support and glad they have been helpful.
Thanks a lot
Really appreciate you taking the time to watch!

Thanks !
Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I know its been ages but part 2 would be fantastic if ever you find the time! Thanks for this.
Is there anywhere to purchase or download the profile library you have? Its so extensive! Or is it just something that you have built up over time?
It's really just something that was collect as I went along. Many were transferred from Matrix 9 as well. I will see if I can make a file and upload them to the Facebook group. I don't think I can just upload the ones from the program because that might be copy write so I'll see about making a new separate file to upload.
@@donsjewelrymakingandjapantrave That would be awesome, I would definitely be happy to pay for the file :)
Thank you for this, this is such a helpful post 🖤

Apprendo sempre cose nuove, grazie infinite!!!
Hi Don, it's a great tutorial thanks. Can I ask why I can't see "Change Seam" operator in my curve menu? I use Matrix Gold 3 too. T hanks in advance.
First, if you have MG 3 you should be able to update to MB 3.5. You should have the parametric seam command then. But you can always go to the curve menu and scroll to the end under edit tools and in the drop down you should find it there as well but that one is the non-parametric command.
WOW!! Really amazing tutorial, all the golden tips for rendering are just here🤩 Thank you for sharing all of this with us, Thank you for your time and energy🙏
You’re the best!
My words cannot express the work you are doing. May God bless you.❤❤❤❤❤
so true
Thanks a lot Don.
a tutorial full of useful and helpful information. Thank you very much🙏
HUGE HONOR - to be your student Thank you so much for your knowledge For sharing it For the time spent Love and health to every heartbeat
I remember the ring I asked you last time 😄 thank you Donald !
Has any one use Ryzen for matrix, is it compatible?
I have not used Ryzen. Actually, this is the first I have heard of it. I will look into it.
How you do print that ring with those tiny prongs, and how do you set the stone?
You would just add your sprue at the bottom with the button using the MatixGold Manufacturing commands. As far as setting the stones, I would just use a heart but undercut the prongs for the seat lay the stone in and bend over the prongs, so the stone is securely set. .08mm is a 1/4 of a point. It's probably the smallest you can get.
I tried to install counter sketch but it says Rhino 64 is not installed. How can I solve this issue? I'm using Rhino 7
I really don't know much about Counter Sketch myself. I have never used it. Would like to at some point. But if I were you, I would contact Gemvision Tech. Support. they will even do a live session with you to get it up and running properly. My apologize for not knowing the answer. Technical Support support@gemvision.com
Excellent. Where do i send the coffee?
