WELCOME TO UK's FIRST STUDENT-LED MAKERSPACE!
Welcome to the iForge Makerspace
What are we?
We are a student led maker space where students can carry out creative projects! The tools we provide include Laser Cutters, Water Jet Cutters, 3D printers, Powered and Unpowered Hand tools and more. Our users come here to utilize the equipment for personal or module projects, some of the creative projects we have seen include a handmade guitar, a self-regulating terrarium - the possibilities are endless!
What do we do?
Our iForge representatives run this maker space five days a week from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, when we are open to all students from the University. The Reps make sure users use this space safely, as well as give guidance and training where appropriate. We also sell material like Plywood, Acrylic, sheet metal and more.
Why should I come to the iForge?
Every student has £10 in their university account for materials EVERY semester! Resin and 3D printing is also FREE! Also, it's fun to create things custom made stuff, isn't that a bargain?

I think this is great. The only mistake I could spot was a spelling mistake 'stoud' instead of 'stout'. I am going to use this with my students, thank you for making it, I think it is very informative.

What if you’re using a hand drill, any tips on adjusting speed for different bits being used?

No motor? Or a handheld drill? Same speeds and use jigs for a 90 angle.

Hi Phil, struggling to see what you mean there - could it be that the e-stop wasn't isolating the drill while the bit was removed?
