Make sure the disc is as clean as it gets too. Use a microfiber cloth to clean it VERY throroughly, no smudges. I grew up with discs and they are extremely sensitive from my experience. Plus its working for me rn

For me I cleaned my disc thoroughly by a microfiber cloth and it worked perfectly. I advise people to try this. Make sure to clean every side and no marks should remain. I think the reason why it stopped working for me was because the ps4 couldn’t read the place where my disc had marks and stuff

I did clean both discs but when it stopped progressing I would eject my disc wait 30 minutes or an hour, insert the disc, and go to notifications and start the install again. Mine paused or stalled on both discs during the installation around 40 GB and 80 GB.

It's a disc problem. You can hear the disc not working properly. Clean the disc and it should work. If it doesnt work snap it in half

FOR ANYONE IN THE FUTURE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM, I FIXED IT. when your play disc hit 99+ hours, don't panic. Just do the following accordingly: - Eject the disc (just press the eject button) - get a microfiber cloth (typically found in eyeglass cases) and put a little water on part of it. - Squeeze the bulk of the water out. - clean the mirror side of the disc with the microfiber cloth in a circular motion. - Dry the disc with the dry part of the microfiber cloth. - air dry the disc if necessary - insert the disc again. What was showing 99+ hours will suddenly start reading again and continue installing. Rebuilding database, putting the console in rest mode, or restarting the ps4 doesn't work. I've tried everything myself. The issue is not with the playstation, but with the disc. Clean with a *wet* microfiber cloth and dry it off immediately. Insert and it will work. This worked once for me. If in the unlikely eventuality it goes back to 99+ hours after a lot of progress, please repeat the steps above.

A simple solution. You have to enter any game or any program, then you take out the disk and erase it well, and then enter it without looking to download and continue what you were doing. The download will be successfully. I succeeded. I'm 100 %🤍

im not sure if this worked yet. my issue was just random, i got on my ps4 to play rdr2 when it showed that i had to install the data disc when ive already been playing it beforehand. im confused. it keeps pausing/crashing halfway through the installation.

Someone help mine is stuck at 50.930 GB 2 disc

its not really the internet or your wifi or clean disk but at a certain point for me (11,000 GB) I can hear that the disk stops turning and stops the download idk if this is a heat thing orr ??? then a few seconds later it does 0.1-0.20 Gb but then it stops the download ( It Might Be A Built In Feature since the amount and size of rdr2 is massive compared to any other game so maybe if i turn it off and leave it for around 10 mins it will work again ?

For the 2nd disc do i have to insert it then remove it when it stops and turn the ps4 off or just remove the 1st one and plug off? Plz i need answers

If it gets stuck on the PLAY disc, restart console several times, then insert DATA disc, then PLAY disc again. It took me an hour of restarting and cleaning the disc, but then tried the data disc again, then immediately switched to play disc, then it worked. Might crash again will update currently at 46/89 and just started working

i already had rdr2 from before so i accidently deleted it when i tried downloading it again i had lost the data disk so i bought another rdr2 the data disc download finishes but when i put the play disc from the old rdr2 it duplicates and i have 2 rdr2 on my ps4

last time I played it on PS4 was when it first came out, I just started installing it again and had this issue.
