Mine is spinning front shaft and axles at all times but with electronic magnetic hubs, i assume thats normal. Weird but normal. However, i can grab the front hub and stop the hubs rotation only, so i believe it is not actuating the magnetism. I have a hunch that it may be because the battery is bad and out of it and its running off the pull start. So potentially without the functioning 12v, it may bot be able to actuate and actually lock in those hubs. Im gonna hook up a temp battery now and test it. If any of this sounds incorrect, please feel free to correct. Much appreciated. 🤜🤛
Nice Video!
Not exactly a master solderer there
Nope I am not. Was a good learning experience for me.
Thanks, I was looking for the problem and reconnecting the wires to their original connections, the last owner made a mess so I decided to bypass all of it thanks to this video, much appreciated
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
I need to change the wire with the magnet and i'm stock. I don't know how to pull out the magnet piece.
Hello, I didn’t have to take mine off. Is it part of the whole assembly?
Hi. I have a 1994 Polaris 400L and wanted to put up some tree stands. Wouldn’t start-ended up pulling the cord and it started back up so i loaded it up on truck and took it to the land i was going to hunt. Before taking it off the back of my truck-i asked my buddy to start it first so we didn’t have to get it back on truck if it didn’t work-ended up pulling the starter rope and got it to fire up. Checked and hung some stands. Shut it down-recoil rope wouldn’t rewind so i had a jump box we used- finished and got it back on truck-ended up blowing all my lights!!!!! Talked to my friend that helped me work on machine before-he said the older ones cant be jumped! I fixed and replaced pull rope and all bulbs-the only one i still haven’t fixed is the AWD bulb-it has a different bulb also like the dash cluster does to if I remember right. Still would like to fix this so if anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated! If i would have known this i would have just went and got a new battery! Hope this helps someone so they don’t have to go through what i had too. Have a good day
Thanks for the post!
@@makinithappen1687 Hi. Your welcome. Just hope it can help someone not go threw what i went threw is all! Still need to fix that AWD bulb also. If anyone can show me thank you!Have a good night
Help... th-cam.com/users/shortszrOUB0fFgYE Of both hilliards one works fine no matter what side I put it on. The other works as in video but does not turn hub when it is installed either side. Tried all new clutches. No help.. Can get it to "work" if I leave the hub bearing only finger tight, but if torqued as in service manual, it does not... Thanks. Sportsman 500 1998
ihave the exact same bike. . mine leaks , changed the seal yesterday and today it leaks like a faucet. new seal installed. anyideas what i can do to stop that like. im using atf.
I’m not sure, must be something else that is not correct or worn out
i repaired my 47 tvo Ferguson tractor gas tank just used hydrochloric acid solder it up 12 years no leaks ya can also put 1/6 inch steel plates over them solder around them the normal plumbers solder works fine.
Appreciate the attempt, but using so much epoxy as well as solder might not be cost effective, it might be cheaper to buy a new tank.
Thank you for the comment! It was a trial for me, i spent $50 on product and used some of the stuff I had laying around. I was quoted $350 for a new tank to be made. so it was worth it for me to try! I’ve been using for a few months and it’s been great!
@@makinithappen1687 so how is it holding up?
Old car fuel bank final special exposide before restored job fuel bank.
Aluminium good variant small micro Filling cracks and narrows in metal. Since ancient times, this method has been used in the car factory 😎👍💯 Real good stop The only way to stop rust. Temporary solution. After years, it will be necessary to restore if metal rust will open somewhere in the future. Then again with aluminum tin fusible present.
👍😎
What kind of solder are you using
Just regular solder you would get from a hardware store for plumbing etc
@@makinithappen1687 i think even curotin or sanha will work fine, but in EU it will cost a lot because it's lead-free.
Looks good, wow that was worse than it appeared. Never seen a tank soddered before.
Thanks! Yea it was very rough. It’s a cool process
What kind of fluid goes in it?
It calls for Polaris Demand Drive Hub Fluid. Part #2871654 A lot of people use ATF. I used ATF
@@narnialord3940 never use gear oil in the front hubs. ATF is a closer substitute should you need something in a pinch.
@@smallgaragehustletype F transmission fluid works just fine in these hubs, local polaris shop have used it for the past 20 years and never had an issue
Every time I use a stud finder it points to me!?!
Haha!
Double bonus! Fixed tank and more counter balance with all that solder!
Thanks so much for this! I just purchased one of these and none of the electrical was working, so this should help me to ensure that my 4x4 works. Where are you located?
you are welcome! I hope you are able to get it working again! its a lot more fun with the 4x4. I am in Minnesota, north of the cities.
my cluster burned out i have a polaris 425 xpedition i i cut and attached the grounds, but i cant get power to my switch
I added the switch so I didn’t mess with the old one and all the wires that go in/out of it. I pulled power to my new switch from the wire by the cluster
That turned out really good nice job! i was thinking about it and i think i took that hitch off one of those suburbans we got for free for scrap when we were like 18 from that family from church we got all those cars and truck from. Back when we had to use your dad's truck and trailer. lol that means i have had that hitch lying around for like 13 or 14 years, glad you made something really useful out of it!!
Thank you! Man, some memories come up thinking back to that! We learned so much and at least we have better ways to move cars now!
