Toyota CV Passenger Side Axle Removal & Replace
The passenger side CV axle bearing is notorious for freezing in the carrier mount on many Toyota vehicles, including (but not limited to): Camry, Solara, Lexus ES, MR2, and other models. This video illustrates how to remove the axle and bearing without damaging the carrier bearing / engine mount, axle bearing, or axle. You only need a proper sized shift fork and, if needed, an air powered impact hammer.

First run. Bad launch, cold tires, and new found power makes for a fun but slow run. Even the LSD couldn't save me on this one. Stayed in second gear after this run, though I think car could be faster downshifting from hard turn in first.

Another example of why you need to stay alert. Folks, don't pass on a 2 lane road if you don't have a clear view ahead of you. Closing speed is 120 mph (178 ft/s). That doesn't give you much time.

Second consecutive day of autocross. Stiffened front sway bar; all struts 1/4 from full soft, camber corrected on rear left wheel. Understeered a bit, but much less tendency to oversteer. Best time of day.

A bit overzealous on the corner entry, coupled with a misaligned rear left wheel, makes for exciting times. A complete 360 degree rotation. 2002 MR2 Spyder, 2ZZ, with street tires.

Seems like an okay idea but I have a feeling that stray cotton fibers are going to cause me a big problem someday. I wonder if there is some sort of cheap conical soft rubber item on McMaster Carr that you could insert to bite the threads and seal things off
From experience, you can increase pressure to nominally 7 PSIG…any more that this and the cap is likely to let go.

Secure the belt, not the bolt.
That’s only because you let off, mid engine cars want to accelerate out of a turn not into it. My spyder mostly understeers even after modifications and 245 tires
Yes; did not want to take out the timing cameras. Does not win friends at an autocross event.

Yes. With 5SFE water to oil cooler modified to fit 2ZZ. MR2 Spyders sold for the US market did not have an external oil cooler.

@@DimoS... provided you do not over rev the engine or run it without oil. For hard track use, a baffled oil pan and an oil cooler is a must. There are better options but more complex / expensive. For the Spyder, 2ZZ is a good value with the 6 speed manual..
