i was always scared. Not of deaths but the thught what is on the other side? I never was a deneir of god but i also never went very deep into religion. I always ask myself, and especially now when my grandfather died, why do so many people who die of old age welcome death even. I guess the most logical thought is because when you get old, quality of life gets worse and worse. But the most important thing to me is that everyone seem to see a "light". I am scared of the black abyss of the "nothing" after death but seeing light after death doesnt sound so scary anymore.

I have great respect for Dr Bush but in this instance he is selective. So called near death experiences have become a scientific research area. There's a lot of data/cases that show that the deceased go to either a pleasant or very bad place and those that go to the good place do not only experience a "light". The meet what they describe as God or Jesus, not "the universe". They want to remain with God/Jesus because what they experience in His presence is true love and peace.

I know that I’m going to be ok after death. But I don’t understand why I’m still afraid. Maybe it’s the combination that I might not see my loved ones again and I’ll come back as some completely different being who has no recollection of their past life. Even tho in my eyes reincarnation seems ridiculous. I can’t help but be afraid of it.

The greatest thing about this is that even those that don't believe, will still be accepted after death. I used to fear death, until I lost my whole family, my father, then my youngest brother, then my mother and finally my brother 3 years my junior. I was raised as a catholic, but as the years went on, my belief slowly faded until one day when I was awake sitting at a traffic light in my car, I caught a glimpse of my father and my youngest brother standing in a beautiful field, both had an arm around the other and they were smiling and waving at me. I wasn't on drugs, I wasn't asleep, I was wide awake, yet this one second glimpse reinforced my faith and my belief in a far greater power than anyone could comprehend, I looked at it as a sign that passing away is not dying but moving on to our next phase of everlasting life. Now at the age of 69, I know why they are called golden years, my body is aging and although I'm not suffering from anything except a spine that's shot to hell, yet many people tell me I don't look a day over 35. I know my time is coming to an end, yet that one second glimpse of the two of them is all I need to say, "Ok, I'll be with my family again soon". I'm not in a hurry to die but I'm certainly no longer scared. Einstein said, Energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed. The total amount of energy and matter in the Universe remains constant, merely changing from one form to another. You cannot live in the past, you cannot live in the future, you can only live right now, life is a gift, that's why it's called the present. I wish everyone on this planet would learn to love one another, if greed, lust, hate, and all the other things that have put the human race into this mess were to be changed to just pure love, this planet would surely change for the better and just think what it would be like. And yet there are many doctors that explain the "white light" and other near death experiences scientifically and, to be honest, very convincingly. I happen to believe in a higher power, but I'm not convinced the NDEs are necessarily a window to it.

I am totally sure of my own after life! I have seen an angel so, I know the Bible is true. I know beyond a doubt that there is a Jesus Christ Who has forgiven my every sin as He said He would if I would just ask ("I will bury them ("our confessed sins) in the deepest sea & remember them no more", He said.). I know HE WILL truly accept me there, in Heaven. & through belief in HIM is the only way to get there!. And I know that, whether or not I am totally accepted by ppl, here--- I AM accepted by Jesus! I don't know why...But I found myself crying uncontrollably ... I rarely cry...I lost my mom/dad/sister/uncle/aunt to Covid back to back - didn't go to any funerals....just went back to work ......but this made me cry...I DONT KNOW WHY
