Hi Patrick… It appears that you are a Fine Gunsmith, and are highly familiar with Daisy 880s. I just recently purchased (2 weeks ago) a Chinese made 880. It shoots great but I am wondering if you have ever put a Metal receiver era 1992 on a gun like mine? I’ve heard possibly the new style bolt is thicker and might have to thinned down… I just know that the dovetail flexes big time with the plastic receiver and the crisp corner of dovetail probably could wear out. It might be beneficial to do your bridge technique on a metal receiver and adapt it to the newer frame and front rear stocks if possible. Have you ever done this?

Ive pumped my new style (maybe 10 years old) 25 times wasnt worth it. Have shot it quite a bit at 20 with heavy pellets. But usually just pump 10-12 15 pumps max 99% of the time. After 15 -17 pumps i dont think it really does much more than stress the gun out.

When cocking that gun its so loud it wouldn't be a good hunter, everything in the wood gonna know you there.

I have my dad’s old daisy rifle but the barrel came out and I don’t know the model of it is there anyway you would know?

I wonder if not using CA glue wold be perfect for this. It flows in and seals perfectly and also releases with heat, just a little less. But i can't realy understand why you couldn't just heat up the valve body and reinsert the barrel with a light tap and when it cools it would be firmly seated. In reverse of removing the barrel? But i never done this so I'm just thinking outloud. Great videos anyhow, even though i would like to get a bit closer to see better sometimes. Keep up the great work👍👍

Hey, take pride, its a daisy! 😉 im 50yrs old now and i still plink with a daisy. Its the newer one u fortunately. But I do remember the old metal ones with the wooden stocks they were Sa-weet little pellot guns! Thankyou so much for sharing your power mods! I just think that thsts fantastic!

Is there anyway you can send me your contact information to my, this email address. The reason being I am wondering if you can work on a Daisy Power Line Model 44 Vintage Pellet Pistol For Me. I Have Recently Acquired 3 Of Them one by one, they all are in excellent condition and look like new. The second one I purchased the clip, was not rotating properly and I made the mistake of taking it apart thinking it was something wrong with the lifter that rotates the clip in the cylinder. Most likely it was or is the barrel is screwed in a little bit too far and was putting pressure on the clip keeping it from rotating. I didn't have a barrel wrench until I purchased the 3rd one. I got it back together but I can't figure out how the spring under or on the side of the hammer that goes on first is supposed go. I got it close but not exactly right. I can't find any videos on how to get it to the right position. I f-ed up,. I know that. I am most definitely NOT GOING to take apart either of the other 2 to try and see how it is positioned and goes back because they are in perfect working order. What is purpose of removing barrel? Just use a soldering iron

The problem I've had with installing a new barrel is that once it's installed and the rifle re-assembled, the barrel is very slightly out of alignment with the breech, and pellets get snagged when trying to push them in, because there's the tiniest of a lip they're getting stuck on. I'm sure you've figured out how to get around this issue? I gave up on trying to replace a bad barrel and just bought a whole new barrel/valve body assembly from Daisy.. Ugh! pain in the rear.

Question from left field regarding the 880. I thought I saw a guy on a forum awhile back that used a rubber star shaped tubing with a hole thru the center to slide over the length of the barrel under the barrel shroud to stabilize the barrel.....???? I looked quit abit and can't find the forum or a pic of the part on Google pictures....... Have you heard, seen, or even know what I am trying to explain. Lol. would it even help anything, and is it actually a part, or is it just sumthing you can get from Home Depot ? Have a Stock 880 Shadow + a Simmons .22 Mag 3-9x32 Scope that I am starting to research beginner type mods for........ Thank for your time + help in advance. 👍

There`s an old Daisy 880 at my sister`s house that won`t pump. I just bought a new one for garden pests. It stopped an armadillo (so far) from finishing off my vegetable and allowed me to replant. I used pointed Crossman pellet at ten pumps. I put a driveway alarm out there and Onite LED light bulbs above the garden on poles that were plugged in to power banks to see him. He would run if I turned on a flashlight. I put the power banks inside ziplock bags to protect them from dew or sudden storms.

Will this work on the plastic receiver?

I have a problem: Bought a daisy 880 on german egun-good condition but i have to change O-Rings and the other parts (this "spoon" of polyurethan) etc. How many parts I have to buy , what parts and where i get a information how to disassembly/assembly. Your information about reducing the trigger effort and pull length was extremely interesting. I'm definitely going to try to contact Ron and order his trigger kit. Like you, I have experimented with filing the sear, and it certainly helps a lot, but like you said, the safety becomes useless and the wear and tear on it is not good at all. So far mine has not worn to that point but it is a concern. I tried to make sure I had plenty of grease packed in there on each gun I did this to, but still, it's not a good thing to do, I agree. Now I didn't mess with my old 822 trigger, it's still stock and has about a 5lb pull, but I did install the 1977 piston, valve abutment, dual 0-ring bolt, and barrel stabilizer. Man that gun is so incredibly accurate it's just hard to believe. But really the 880's are too. If they weren't so ridiculously accurate, there wouldn't be so many guys trying to upgrade these guns. I've been using 880's and now the 822 for squirrel hunting for decades now. I even have a first year 880, one my Dad bought for himself back in '72 and now I have it. But it's a smooth bore! That was before the 881 had come out with the rifled barrel.
