NAV erosion is always a concern. But imo isn't not that big of an issue with these so far. They have gone thru a small dip already and they recovered pretty well. I think XDTE drop briefly in the 49$ range and last week is was above it's inception price. QDTE drop also and is inching closer and closer to its inception price. All while still distributing divs along the way. XDTE total return was beating the SPY since inception and QDTE was tracking closely to QQQ. So IMO they have performed well compared to some of the other similar high yield income funds that track the indexes.

I'm curious how well they will do. I did decent when I did it myself. I likely won't be covering the fund as I think happy camper with dividends is covering that fund now

Yeah me too haha, once I see a good pull back I'll drop a good bit into this fund. Might take a bit tho, market keeps hitting new highs😅

They add more shares because people are buying into the fund. It means the fund is growing

More investers will equal more contracts but it's not always 1 to 1 because of the cost per/contract. If an invester comes in and buys 2 shares that dilutes because that isn't enough $ to buy another contract 9 contracts/390,000 shares so roughly every 42,000 invested gets another contract purchased. This is exact but its a fair estimate.

Yeah think the QDTE/XDTE strategy is better. They may not make as much premium as the defiance funds. Mainly cuz premiums for puts are generally more than calls but they are able to capture more upside and have full exposure overnight. I'm glad I helped you understand these funds more! @@Reaching_Riches But even if QQQY collect more from the sell-put, it seems QDTE is exercising discipline on only paying out what they generate while QQQY pays out more than they generate. So we don't have to re-invest as much. On top of that, QDTE has already bounced back by over 1% in the afterhours, and QQQY less than half a percent, which I think is from the premium of selling another put. No problem, look forward to your weekly review of the funds.

I have looked too much into their holdings yet, but I hope they collect enough premiums to make it worth their time. That was my issue when running the wheel, I picked safe stocks but premiums were low. Wasn't really worth my time. But we will see how they do.

Yeah I like the strategy, 1 beta, diversified. I'm hoping there won't be too much tourist🙏 The quarterly divs should be somewhat large since it's a few months of premiums being collected. Overall I like the strategy, I'll keep an eye on it

Roundhill typically sells their calls a half percent OTM. I believe RoundHill doesn't keep their short calls over night because they want to capture the "night effect" which is the gap ups ok the market between close of one day and the open of the next. Those overnight moves can be significant. Then they just sell the short call at that new open price. This can also work the other way if the market gaps down also. But they did their research and showed that the market typically gapped up more than it gapped down.

@@Reaching_Riches What do you mean by "capture the night effect"? Do you mean they don't hold overnight in order to avoid being gapped up or gapped down on their trade, and then open a new trade in the morning after the gap is done?

So the way I understand it is, their deep in the money calls is what gives them the exposure to the underlying and the overnight price movements. The short calls is just what generates the income. So every morning they sell calls to generate income. Then at market close, they let the calls expire. Then that leaves the long calls to capture whatever happens at night. Be it a gap up or down. Then at market open they sell calls again to generate income. Basically they are doing a "poor Man's covered call" or it's more technical name "diagonal spread"

@@Reaching_Riches OH I see now what you mean. We would be capped on our long call overnight if we held the short call overnight. That's smart. We get all the appreciation overnight then .5% during the day + premium from selling the short call in the morning. This makes me more confident in buying this fund over the defiance version.

Yup you got it spot on! I think this is how these funds can recover from any drops in the share price

I'm still holding on to my defiance funds for now. Once these RoundHill funds can DRIP me 1 share a week. I may start finding them more and more. I really like that they were able to recover so well during the April madness.

Do you have a target allocation goal? Or are you still getting a feel for these before dumping more funds in?

@@Reaching_Riches My core primary funds are FEPI and YMAX, I want to eventually add XDTE as secondary EFT to my primaries, I just wanting for the price to come down a bit below my CA, I have about 1k on standby to invest in them, and will build up from there.

The holding will show their synthetic deep in the money buy long call. You need to check the intra day trades. Which will show the short 0dte call. Hope this helps

Today's intra day trades and holding should be up all weekend, so you can grab it anytime. Just be aware that the intra day trades will change everyday so if you want to see them you'll need to grab the download every day

XDTE is doing really well. There was one day last week where it captured almost 60¢ upside. I can see a scenario where they recover

Yeah the NDX is volatile. QDTE got wrecked trading it

It's crazy I don't believe people understand how massive weekly compounded dividends are.

I'm really liking these funds also. I'll need to more history and data on these funds before I start investing more heavily into these. We had a rough few weeks so we will see how they can recover. So far I like what I'm seeing!

@@Reaching_Riches so I am trying to find that interview, It would appear from what I can find the deep in the money exposure is they bought calls at 12000? I cn't verify this but it is the best information I have at this time! I will continue my Sunday search...........

It used to but not sure how accurate it was. I'm currently looking into other ways to accurately track the overnight exposure. If you have any ideas please let me know. I'll be making a video explaining my spreadsheet soon

@@Reaching_Riches So for the deep in the money contract at 12,000 on QDTE I might have a solution...... You could take the June 12000 contract on the futures market currently sitting at $5845.75 and add or subtract the level next week. Say it's 5900.00 the long exposure would be plus 64.25 times the number of contracts held. I believe this would get you pretty close on addition win/loss due shareholders under special dividend when it is closed. From what I can gather they are using deep in the money quarterlies. 3.25% of the portfolio. As far as I can tell, then there should be the remainder of the portfolio 14% +/- in cash and equivalents. So currently my guess is they paid around 6690 so down almost $1000.00 on the overnight long. Thoughts?????
