Both teams gave that one hell of a go, great game to watch. So pleased to see Claudia MacDonald back on form, electric pace. One note though: Slightly abrupt cut-off. I would have liked to have seen some reaction/analysis...

I cannot lie..never watched a rugby match before but have Ilona Maher on Insta and m a HUGE fan! I shall definitely be following all things women’s rugby from now on, and making a trip to see Ilona play sometime this season!

Even if Exeter lost this time, special mention to Claudia Mac Donald. What a competitor! She missed a tackle on Ilona Maher the american star of Bristol number 11 here, who went straight and scored an astonishing ''three-quarter'' try in force, but took her revenge a little later by making a magnificent framing overflow on Maher herself. She came to offer herself all over the field during the last five minutes by showing an amazing tonicity. Jean-François, French, former rugby player and great fan of women's rugby

With Maher's try, does anyone else get shades of Jonah Lomu's 1st try vs England in WC1995? Ilona goes right through the defender, in a fashion similar to what Lomu did to Tony Underwood. Clearly a very fine athlete.

The way to ruin an apparently excellent game of rugby, is to have Claire Thomas commentate. Such unnecessary hyperbole, a seemingly desperate need to say as many words as possible, its just too much. I have to have the volume off if i watch a game with her commentating. Which is a shame. Maybe she will grow into it and develop a less is more approach as she gets more experience.........not for me tho at the moment.

I love the growing women's game but I wish Claire Thomas would stop reading the "commentators book of glaring cliches" - it does her no good. Less is more and please please please, just commentate - don't try and fill every second with so many awful phrases.
