What an amazing performance of Rach 3. We need to hear more of this gifted musician. I doubt whether I have ever heard a better performance
..so ausgewogen und einfühlsam findet man ganz selten!
Inspired, passionate, truly wonderful. The best performance I have heard.
Wonderful performance! Poignant to see Laura Samuel leading the BBCSSO. She died of an incurable disease very recently. RIP.
An exceptional and exquisite performance by a true maestro. Would have loved to be there live.
Maravilla bellisimo
I've listened to many different versions of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 over the years, but this version feels like the best fit for me. it's truly the greatest
How have I never heard/seen this before? And why can't I find his Rach concerto recording(s) on Spotify? This dude's impressive.
that was really really epic
Oh my god how I love the arpeggiated chord that whirls in right after 01:42. Whew--the mystery Rachmaninoff can generate sends me to another world. And at 38:10, the eight chords that changed my life continue to change my life in this man's hands.
I’ve only seen this performance 25-30 times. 😏Mr Gavrylyuk is as nice a person as he is a tremendous pianist. Maestro Dausgaard was an incomparable partner, and his orchestra was totally on point. Among all the great performances on TH-cam, I return to this most often.
I like his performance the best of all Rach3.
Talk about combining power with great sensitivity and wonderful musicality WOW fantastic and more than ably supported by the Scottish orchestra, well held together by a great conductor too!! Very well done all, cheers Peter. Loved this performance, Bravo indeed.
I heard him in person last year playing the big Tchaikovsky piano concerto with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. I don’t usually like the bombastic way most pianists play that work, but Gavrylyuk played it so sensitively and brought out so much more of the poetic and lyrical qualities of the work - it was such an eye(ear) opener!
This would have to be one of the best modern day performances of this work!
Fantastic performance!
As I have watched many many takes on the 3rd concerto, I get recommended new versions all the time, but do not bother to watch them all the time. This is truly one of the greatest impressions of the 3rd I have ever seen. Truly phenomenal
One of the best performances i've seen

I know next to nothing about music but I like this one because I can hear every note, some who play very quickly make the music a blure. Sorry experts - just my simple view🤔👍
This is up there with the very best including lim, daniil, etc - so clean and you can really hear every single note 👏🏻👍🏻🥃
As extremely talented this man is with his craft I am a David Helfgott fan first.
The only way David Helfgott should be allowed into a concert hall is as a paying member of the audience.
I like his performance❤
42:36 what a legendary moment for Alexander Gavrylyuk
Mais quel phrasé !! Magnifique.
Alexander Gavrylyuk was interviewed on Intermezzo with Arik when he won first prize in the Rubenstein Competition some years ago. He was engaging and pleasant, a nice guy. He played several shorter pieces.
Gigantic, epic

Nostalgie... Danke für 7 wunderbare Jahre...
I saw him in a recital in NYC about 10 years ago...one of the best techniques around.
Do Europeans have any musical manners-seems they want the attention by coughing and not even muffling their mouths?
9:00 on really powerful! 10:20 on !!!
Hey why the coughing! No respect! you could cover it, silence it….yet you continue.
Opening theme much too slow as always these days. Please go and listen to Rachmaninoff's recording and play his music properly.

THIS is emotions! Virtuosity! Gusto! Fresh air! He doesn’t make it look difficult and uses all energy for expression of every note. I never heard it played so beautifully!
This is my favorite version of this peice, and truly amazing
Every note is exquisitely cared for and perfectly placed. I love his phrasing, his breathing, the spaciousness he gives the music which allows it to really move forward or to settle as appropriate. It's this that makes it so interesting to me and so musical.
Maravilhoso. Sentindo como quê arrebatado.
42:50 That was the most magical moment between pianist and conductor i have ever seen. Pure joy!
His tone is just too damn intense and oppressive but he's got the general picture right.
