IWAC Bible Studies #22 The Church and Spiritual Gifts Week 3
Topic: The Church and Spiritual Gifts: While Jesus Christ is God’s gift to the world for the salvation of mankind, the Holy Spirit on the other hand is God’s gift to the Church for the purpose of maintenance and sustainers of salvation. The “Church” in this context is described as the universal church or the body of Christ which is different from denominations. There are various types of gifts of the Holy Spirit, all of which are given by the same Holy Spirit for the edification of the Church. Recall that the bible says that “we are God’s temple” as individuals and therefore carriers of the Holy Spirit. It is evident from my spiritual walk with God and Biblical records that no individual can function effectively in the Church without the Holy Spirit. The purpose of this study is to gain an in-depth understanding of the person of the Holy Spirit without whose support our labour in the LORD’S vineyard will not be approved on the day of Christ’s visitation.
