Great Art Ep.7: Disputation of the Holy Sacrament (Raphael) | NTD Arts & Culture
มุมมอง 4.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In 1504, Raphael goes to make a name for himself in the city of Florence, already inhabited by the giants Michelangelo and Leonardo. The young artist is soon given the opportunity to work on the Pope's Rooms in Rome, and creates a masterpiece on every wall. The "Stanza della Segnatura" is dedicated to four intellectual faculties, including, of course, theology. In the "Disputation on the Holy S...

มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Statue of David Strength, determination, and righteous faith - the image of Michelangelo's "David" has eclipsed all other Davids in its compelling depiction. It looms not just with power but with grace, and revival, as Professor Rosand explores. As the story goes, the very block of marble from which David was carved was a challenge. Where others saw only a misshapen, difficult piece of ston...
Great Art Ep.5: Pietà (Michelangelo) | NTD Arts & Culture
มุมมอง 37K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Michelangelo was a visionary artist who thought of himself first and foremost as a sculptor. He dealt as much with spirit as matter in his art, and retold stories everyone knew in ways that forced us to see them with fresh eyes. He took the tradition of the pieta and turned it into something eloquent, poetic. Still in his early 20s, the young Michelangelo worked with his mind as much as he did ...
Great Art Ep.4: The School of Athens (Raphael) | NTD Arts & Culture
มุมมอง 13K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The Renaissance was the revival of the ancient world through the spirit of the modern Christian world, and no work better represents this epoch than Raphael's "The School of Athens." Plato and Aristotle, the giants of ancient Western philosophy, and heroes of Raphael, walk toward us, flanked by a monumental gathering of Greek philosophers in the midst of discussion and the exchange of knowledge...

มุมมอง 2.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The queen of heaven, the source of humanity in God, justice tempered by mercy - the Virgin Mary is no casual subject, and countless artists have tried their hand at depicting her. What makes Leonardo da Vinci's "Virgin of the Rocks" such a notable work? How did he take the standard subjects of such paintings and unite them through subtle, exquisite details? Professor Rosand explores the rocky s...

This talk focusses on the wonderful painting in the Louvre, Paris. But is it really the earlier and more significant of the two versions? In a series of videos dealing with different aspects, Tamsyn Taylor puts forward the opinion that the painting in the National Gallery, London, is the earlier, and one of the most influential paintings of the Italian Renaissance. th-cam.com/video/j5zHJ0B5DhU/w-d-xo.html

Mary holds Jesus in death the same way she held Him at His birth . She tenderly cradles her son at the end the same way she did in the beginning.

I believe Mary's hand is expressively outstretched to show the question of the great "why" she is in every way sinless and asks "why" anyone would sin and cause her son to suffer and die. The outstretched hand is eternally asking us to think before we would sin and add to the reason for his suffering.

One small point to wander, that is, if Muslims would have been succesful in they effort to conquer Italy in 1480 all this would have been lost, all Italy would have been a waste land filled with Mosques and minarets, no Michael Angelo, Leonardo, no St Peter Basilica, no Baroque, Nothing that people flock to Italy to days to visit for, would Exist.

Leonardo painted the Madonna of the Yarnwinder showing my Messiah to have before him the destiny of a terrible death upon a cross. The next painting 'The Madonna of the Rocks is a painting of Yehoshua when he came to save His people from their sins as written (Matt. 1:21. The other woman is the second mother who was prophesied to fulfil Revelation 12:5 in concurrence with Hebrews 1:6, when He (Yahoveh or Yahuah God Almighty) again brings His Firstborn Into the inhabited earth. Mariam (Mary) has her hand reaching out to grasp Emmanuel as her son is called in the Second Coming. The other woman is pointing to Emmanuel that he must go up to His Father's throne at the time of birth. Really the painting was to foretell the other woman would have to relinquish her child to his Father. The other painting is not St Anne and Mary with Jesus holding a slaughtered lamb. Leonardo was showing how the purpose of the First Coming was fulfilled and the second coming was yet to come to fruition as scripture has foretold. That obligation did come to completion at. midnight on Friday 3rd, Sat. 4th June 1971 that makes Emmanuel (Matthew 1:22, 23) 50yrs since that painting came to be fulfilled prophesy. It is an Israelite Jubilee year this year beginning October 2021 to Oct 2022. I know the real story of these paintings are factual as I have written. I am convinced the Second Coming of Christ as the anointed King and High Priest will be before this year ends. Should anyone at all get to read this I ask do you know that beneath the Madonna of the Rocks painting in London they found a sketch under the paint showing how a premature birth would be caught away by Mary and God's angels? Yehoshua is the Son of God and is coming to judge all of humanity. Who will hold the banner at the time of battle see Exodus 17:15, 16. Most interpretations are at variance but I was told by the. Most High God this will be the battle between the army of my Elohim against Satan and the demons who are in control of the earth in this day as Ephesians 6:12, Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against governments, authorities, world rulers of this darkness, against wicked spirit forces. By that prophesy and in accord with the true meaning of these paintings and in view of the time, I expect this year will bring about that battle as written or should be written in Genesis 22:14 in reference to the Son of God Yehoshua being the ransom that saves his people who is commander over Heaven's army that will enter into battle and Exodus 17:15, 16 in reference to that battle being against the wicked spirit forces and Amalek as is written in some translations. Translations differentiate with each other making what is true difficult to discern.

Your propaganda is so disgusting, you know the main teacher on this masterpiece is Zoroaster (next to Raphael - even he painted himself like a selfie with the main teacher). In free Iran we will show up your propaganda, Not only the Greek was a little province of Great Iran but also all the philosophy is Iranian Philosophy. to be clear, the word "Philosophy" is a translation of "Ahura Mazda" means the greatest wisdom, the god of Zoroastrianism. Shame on you...

    • @TheLastOutlaw289
      @TheLastOutlaw289 ปีที่แล้ว

😂haha your propaganda is also disgusting my friend. Many of the major Greek scholars spent decades studying under Egyptian Masters and the word philosophy was coined by Pythagorus after his learning in Egypt along the Nile. The Egyptian word for wisdom is Rekh denotative with two hieroglyphs of Light Entering an Eye. It was only when the Persian occupied Egypt that they discovered Pythagorus and entreated him to come to Persia to talk with the wise men of Persia.
