Have a 12 WK old Mal x she is a hand full two hours a day some time three and still full of energy.just be patient and plenty of walk time.

Oh my goodness I used to live near Charlotte NC we got our belgian malinois from an area called Gastonia we love our babies they are twins. Congratulations on the new sweetheart. They are amazing dogs.

People just hating with mental stimulation of about 5-10 minutes and having another malinois or German shepherd who is older has helped tons very loyal and socialize them like I take mine everywhere I go

Malinois are one the most active breeds, the 26th smartest breed if I recall correctly, and the preferred breed for military and police. Are you ready to exercise the dog at least 45 minutes a day? Are you ready to train the dog at least 45 minutes a day? Are you ready to sacrifice your lunch break to drive home and take care of your dog? Are you ready to experience the near inevitable occurrence where the dog eats your couch and chairs, pulls up your carpet, or digs a hole in your wall? If so, get a Malinois. If not, I suggest you look into a different breed.
Mainline malinois in Houston Texas. Chief is very laid back, very level headed, he hasn't chewed up anything yet and he's almost 6 months. All in how you raise them!
@@skipondoutdoors2919 All it takes is your mom goes to the emergency room and you leave the dog out though. I’m just making sure the he understands what it’s like owning a Mal, not particularly saying he shouldn’t get one, just he should be ready.
Have fun with your malinois. I love mine. Hes a retired bomb sniffer who saved dozens of lives by finding a bomb before it could go off in a botched terrorist attack a few years back. I am proud of my rocky dog. Hes a hero. Anyways, you have quite the journey ahead of you, and if you take great care of the dog the rewards will be worth it.

I hope you did some research because this breed is a working one and needs to be challenged both physically and mentally. Unless you have plenty of time with this pup, expect numerous problems. I wish you the best.

Thor looks like my , Zamp that just passed(W German show line too). Miss my beautiful boy! I now have a fawn Dutch shepherd that looks like your Chief 😀 Fury is 14 weeks September 10th. He will be trained in personal protection . Their training looks just the same(except my trainer has us work without food). I look forward to seeing chief progress;) he’s lovely!

Without getting to personal, can you give me some tips on picking out a Mal pup.?For example a good breeder, characteristics to look for at about 8 weeks. And how far back should I should go to check the genetic makeup of the parents? Thanks
Thanks for watching! As far as a breeder, ask questions, get to know them the best you can and understand what exactly they were breeding for. If possible, ask to view the parents and there lines.
