There are few things as terrifying as an armored coach doing padwork in training. The grappling and running would break me, but having a trainer beating the shit out of you and you agreed to be there, take that abuse, and get broken is a religious experience like few others I’ve had in martial arts.

I would like to say that I had no idea approaching this fight I didn’t know I was main event nor did I know who I was fighting. I had been back to Thailand for two weeks training and offered a fight I said yes. I had just fought a month prior at 68 kilos then I gained 14 kilos in 14 days after. I had ran a half marathon inbetween. The only time prior to this fight where I was watched by who I believe was a tiger mauy thai trainer or manager whilst I was hitting pads one day. When I arrived at bangla stadium I was then told I was main even fighting avatar who I was fortunate to speak with before the fight. He was nice and respectful guy and I have nothing but the upmost respect for him. My good friend who was a more established fighter at the time offered to take the fight for me and I declined. I knew as soon as I arrived at the stadium the uphill battle I had coming and accepted it. I could say it was a mismatch and make excuses but at the end of the day I walked in with my eyes open knowing full well the challenge in front and that I was going to hurt after the fight. As you can see in the video I was respectful the entire fight did what I could I took some big nasty hits and kept going. The second spinning heel kick blinded me on my left eye and I kept moving forward. The final knee took my vision and I wasn’t sure what was happening after. The referee did his job well. I was out classed the only thing I had was sheer Scottish stubbornness. For those that think I got my ass kicked but have never stepped on the ring I say try it. I’m just a simple guy who works full time and trained after a full day of work learning and doing what I can. I believe this video shows the difference between a full time fighter and someone who can’t commit full time to a beautiful sport. Much respect
