I remember when my dove was that small! The little chirps and wing flaps are so cute. I got him at 45 days, and it was about 2 weeks before his first real coo. He was laughing before cooing, lol

Hi, you got a new subscriber! 🙂 If you want, feel free to tell me your gender assessment on the pigeon dove hybrid I'm currently taking care of. The newest short featuring her/him is named "ORANJE got his vitamin treatment and is doing really well" She/he was most likely born in July, and you can tell by the rock pigeo-like dark stripes on the wings that probably the mom is a rock pigeon because it's sort of strange to imagine a female dove letting a male rock pigeon jump on them. Could also be that ORANJE had been abandoned by a breeder as a sort of breeding "accident". Thanks if you can find time to give me your assessment on this hybrid bird. 🥰

My little guy loves to snuggle and coo. He loves to bury his face in my palm or my neck and softly coo while twitching his wings. He was 45 days when I got him, which may be part of the reason he loves physical contact. We have a nightly ritual where he either perches in my arm and dozes or on my shoulder under my hair. He will tickle me and get his beak and head under my hand or finger and push it to where he wants scratches. He is like a cat with the scratches and leans right into it. These guys make wonderful pets. They are so gentle and so funny. His bow coo is incessant, though.

I was just wondering if it’s better to keep doves in pairs or if you should just have one. I intend to spend as much time with my doves and it’s debated whether to get one or two. Will the bond with me be different if I have a male and female dove? (Also congratulations on having your daughter!! <3)
