Find an empty room find an hour of time, get on your knees and cry out for forgiveness of breaking Gods law and ask for the holy spirit to come into you and clean house of any curses and and demonic infuence. You should be in tears if you are doing it right, do that for a week and God will send you the holy spirit, he will let you know when you get it, mine came with a wind storm like I have never scene and a bird came to me siting on the middle of my window like on the glass where it impossible to sit and he hung out with me a while. Good luck my friend, I will pray for you to do it and you to get your holy spirit.

Religion is given from God, as are all things. I agree with your second point about the curiosity of man. It comes from pride, really, but thats not entirely relevant. Curiosity is why people are religious; the science of the gaps fallacy does nothing in search of objective, transcendent truth. We have been given the truth in the person Jesus Christ, the Lord and God of all, and the Church he established, which is the pillar and foundation of truth. This definition of ritual is silly. The apes are playing. Dogs play; are they engaging in ritual? Is basketball a ritual? There is not any evidence that I know of showing a cause and effect relation between ritualistic behaviors and development of religion.

I will stick with what I stated about why humans create various religions out-of-the-blue. According to scientists, what the apes are doing is NOT mere playing. Google it.

So, look up the Aztec religion. Do you honestly think that originated with your God, or do you think that it was just made up because people didn't understand nature, and decided that massive human sacrifices would make things go their way? If you conclude that the Aztec religion was just made up, what makes you think that all others aren't made up, too? Evidence indicates that various religions are made up from both the fear of death and to provide an explanation for the unexplainable. That's it.

@@valerielhw Thank you for a reasoned response. Daniell's troll/contrarian response was extremely weak. The Church teaches that the gods are demons, which are fallen angels. It's a modern protestant innovation that Christians don't believe in pagan gods. Some are even named in Scripture. So, I absolutely do not believe the Aztecs just "made it up". Furthermore, modern athiests have been trying to legalize the sacrifice of their unborn children for decades; I'm not sure that argument really works to begin with. I asked for evidence for your initial claim about ritual behavior leading to religion, and got none. Now you claim that religions come from the fear of death, and claim to have evidence. As an athiest (likely a materialist), I assume you mean scientific, empirical evidence. What is it? I can tell you with absolute fact that I only fear death because of what comes after; Christ's judgment. Besides the terror of judgement, I await the day I get to leave this world eagerly.
