      Mike, I got a great deal! Honestly, I think I got one of the best deals anyone will get this year from a dealership. The bike has 11K miles on it, $50,000 in aftermarket parts (all the work done by the Ducati dealership), the previous owner is an 80-year-old man with millions of dollars who miticusally maintained the motorcycle; My final price for the bike was $21,000 Just a SHORT list of the V4S aftermarket upgrades: ◦ CUSTOM PAINTED BODY ◦ ALL CARBON BODYWORK ◦ AKRAPOVIC FULL SYSTEM EXHAUST ◦ Ducati Racing Evo UpMap ◦ BST Carbon Fiber Wheels ◦ CARBON FIBER FRONT WHEEL AIR DUCTS ◦ CARBON FIBER MIRRORS ◦ CARBON FIBER FRONT FENDER ◦ CARBON FIBER REAR FENDER ◦ CARBON FIBER HEEL GUARDS ◦ RIZOMA FRONT AXEL PROTECTION ◦ TRIPLE CLAMP BLACK POWDER COATED ◦ PASSENGER PEGS BLACK POWDER COATED ◦ CRG CARBON FIBER LEVERS ◦ BREMBO AFTER MARKET CALIERS ◦ AFTERMARKET ROTORS ◦ AELLA FRAME SLIDERS ◦ RIZOMA REAR BREAK, FRONT BREAK AND CLUTCH RESERVOIRS ◦ RIZOMA KEYLESS GAS CAP ◦ LUIMOTO SEAT COVERS ◦ NRC FENDER SLIMINATOR ◦ RIZOMA FOOT PEGS ◦ CNC FRAME COVERS ◦ GB RACING ENGINE PROTECTION COVERS ◦ ALUMINUM SPROCKET KIT ◦ EVOTECH REAR WHEEL PROTECTION ◦ SMOKE TALL RACING SCREEN What Ducati was your past bike and why did you get rid of it? @@MotoGold wow you absolutely,y stole that thing. My last bike was an 848. When I was in the service back in the 90’s I had a CBR 600 that was all tricked out. Then it was a couple decades and I bought an 848. Did the typical stuff like titanium exhaust, race filter, Rizoma rear sets, power commander, fender eliminator sprocket and a tune. I keep working my way up to a liter bike. I’m 51 but still love the bikes. I sold it because I live in the north east and it didn’t get ridden a lot and my wife was always worried every time I rode it. I bought a bunch of sports cars and now thinking about another bike and it would have to be a Ducati. I was thinking of the V4S or V4R, possibly the 30th anniversary 916 SP2. They all look amazing. Feel like the 2025 model missed the mark and maybe I should grab a 2024. Not sure if the 998 motor or the 1103cc motor would be best for me. Also the bikes seem to be getting taller and taller. I’m 5’8 and I’ve heard the V4R feels like it’s lower maybe due to the seat. I haven’t even gone to the dealer. Just been sniffing around YT. Thanks for the reply.

      @@mik3ymomo Thank you Mike! So you know, my name is Mike too lol. Everyone in my family worries that I ride, especially because no one else in my family rides. But I have always been obsessed with speed. During the pandemic I was living in California in Huntington beach with wide open roads that got me into motorcycles. At first I was looking for a 2005 Doge Viper, but the price of those shot up from 35K to 70K overnight. Then I discovered I could get one of the best motorcycles for 15K out the door, that made the decision really easy. When I got the Monster 1200 R, my current car was the BMW X3 M Competion with 500 something horsepower and 500 something torque. But, after riding my Monster I realized I never really understood what fast was. There was nothing I could do to almost any car to get the kind of acceleration you get from these bikes. Plus the thrill! There's nothing else in the world like it. You have to go with Ducati if its your first bike in awhile. I'm 5'8 as well so I completely understand the ergonimics. My V4S sits super high and I asking the same questions as you, if I should go with the V4S or V4R? For the street I would recommend the S because of the electronic suspension. Don't work your way up to a liter bike, just get one. You can adjust the settings so the bike gives you less power, than work your way up to the full potential of the bike. I know the north east well and I would highly recommend looking into the 2018 / 2019 Ducati Monster 1200 R. I bought the V4S for Florida's straight roads but I keep my Monster 1200 R for windy wooded roads. The Monster 1200 R comes with 160hp and weighs 400lbs, but with an aftermarket exhaust and tune its closer to 175hp and 360lbs. Plus the R comes with Ohlins and all the best parts. That said, if you want the best of the best, out of all the bikes you listed, hands downs I would go with the: Panigale 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 25° Anniversario. Only 500 made, it's the best technology in the world meaning very safe bike, looks amazing, and you will never have to sell it because it will probably only appreciate in value. I know the owner of Ducati in South Florida, have a great relationship with them, and they have one V4 Anniversario. I'm stopping by the dealership tomorrow to get some new gear, if you want I can ask them about the Anniversario and if it's there get some video footage of it for you. 916www.twowheelsworld.com/default.asp?page=xPreOwnedInventoryDetail&id=15614936&p=4&s=(Sort%20By)&d=D&fr=xPreOwnedInventory#/

      Thank you so much Rich! It was crazy, this bike was sitting in a dark corner of the dealership, and in the dark you really couldn't see what the bike look's like. I first just noticed all the aftermarket upgrades, went home, thought about the bike, went back a week later, was blown away it was still there, went home again, had a dream about the bike, the next morning went back and made my downpayment. It wasn't until getting the bike outside in the natural light that I could see how gorgeous it is. Initially, I thought I would put a new wrap on the bike, but once it was outside that idea never crossed my mind again.

    Those speeds on naked bikes aren't fun... 160 on the speedo is about 150mph actual, and the wind just kills you at those speeds... I used to track my Monster 1200S and anything over 140 was not pleasant. haha The only thing I don't like about the R model is that they didn't offer a quickshifter... The raciest bike in that model range, is the ONLY one that you can't get a factory quickshifter on? Italians are in their own little world... lol

    • @MotoGold
      @MotoGold หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SquireSCA Haha, you aren’t joking. I’ve had the R up to 172 mph and it felt like the only thing stopping me from going faster was the wind. Imagine adding a GoPro to the front of your helmet, all the extra wind resistance from the camera. For the past year I’ve been driving in Florida a lot with nothing but straight open roads, so eventually I got really comfortable with the wind. Now the wind doesn’t bother me at all. That’s really funny you mentioned the quick shifter. The R doesn’t come with it and like you mentioned that doesn’t make sense for the R model. There’s an after market quick shifter that works great but I decided to keep the bike fully manual. I like the rawness, simplistic, innate mechanical nature of the Monster R; best cafe racer ever. I’m never selling the Monster R, but I am looking to add a V4S or V4R soon for the Florida street’s and maybe track. I was thinking about going to the track soon just to see how the Monster R does against other sports bikes. I have a feeling I can surprise some people with how quick the Monster is. How was your S on the track? Did the torque pull you out of corners well?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MotoGold Always remember to subtract 5-8% from whatever the speedo says... I liked it on track, but smaller tracks like Jennings will be better for it. The lack of aero does hurt it on the bigger tracks with long straights. The power is great for coming off of turns... the ground clearance is a bit limited so be careful on tight turns... The Monsters from that era were a bit more relaxed than the Streetfighters, or even the older Monsters...

    • @MotoGold

      @@SquireSCA You’re 100% right on taking off 5 - 10% off the top speed. I wasn’t using a GPS so I have no idea how fast I’ve actually gotten the bike up to. I love my Monster but you’re right, it’s not a track bike. I’m 90% sure I’m going to get a V4S for the track. What are you riding now and did you get rid of your S? Also, I’m curious to know since you had a Monster S, what is your favorite bike of all time?

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MotoGold I am on my 35th bike now... I think 10 have been Ducati's... Currently on a Streetfighter V2 and my wife has the new Monster+.... My favorite Ducati to ride was my 1198, and then my Panigale 959... The ones I wish I had kept were the 999S Parts Unlimited edition(150 made) and the Nicky Hayden Edition 848... Honestly, if you want a Ducati for track, I would get the Panigale V2... The V4S is so overkill, and it's $10k more than the V2, but it won't give you $10k worth of faster lap times... Unless you just have money to spend, the V2 is the better track weapon... Little lighter, easier to manage, little more agile... And the money you save can go to exhaust, tuning, crash protection, tires and tire warmers, etc...

    It has a SC slip on exhaust, K&N air filter with a Power Commander and Tune. On the Dyno the bike did 136 horsepower to the wheels at 10,000 RPM and 83 torque to the wheels at 7,700 RPM. But the bike was originally tuned in California for 91 pump gas. I’m in Florida now and will probably have the bike retuned for 93 gas. I would like to get another 5 horsepower to the wheels. One of the biggest gains on the bike was replacing the OEM exhaust with the SC Project. That saved almost 25 pounds. The bike might only be pushing 170 - 180 horsepower to the crank but it has a ton of torque and only weighs a mind blowing 350 pounds.

    Abs and traction control off?

    • @MotoGold
      @MotoGold หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mmosley24 For that one ride I did have all the riders aids off, I was really trying to see the Monster R’s top speed. 6th gear is overdrive, apparently I can hit 172 - 175mph in 5th gear, but 6th gear won’t even hit 170 mph. I’m going to change out the bikes sprocket and see if I can get the bike above 180 mph (hopefully up to 185mph). But to be 100% honest, the bike is way more fun with ABS and DTC on. It’s very difficult to control the bike on the highway doing 120 to 170mph for a long period of time without ABS and DTC because the bike only weighs 350lbs, so those really help with confidence around bends fast and pinning the throttle. Without the electronics it’s extremely hard to keep the front wheel of the bike on the ground. It’s such a fun bike. I was talking with a friend of mine about trading it in for the V4S or V4R, but I keep saying how unique and great the Monster R is. It’s really one of a kind bike. I just got a new chin mount and will be uploading a lot more videos and be a lot more consistent. If there is anything or any specific bike you want to see please let me know. I know an owner of a Ducati dealership by me who likes the channel, the other day he said I can review any bike in shop and take it on test rides. So hopefully this channel can really grow now.

    Like that bike. Had a 2001 996r back In 2005. Got stolen. Been looking at the monsters but can’t get a Ducati without a dry clutch. That sound is half the fun. As far as I know the monster 1200 only comes with wet clutch anybody know if that’s the case?

      I've honestly never seen a Ducati Monster with a dry clutch, but I would be shocked if an aftermarket one isn't available, I'll definitely take a look. You are right about the sound, especially with a Monster. I did notice an improvement in my shifts after installing the wet clutch, but that could also be mental. I actually crashed the motorcycle in my videos about ten months ago, well actually someone ran a stop sign smashing into me and totaling the bike. I loved the Monster 1200 R so much I recently rebought the bike and will be transferring a lot of parts over from the last bike plus other improvements. I'll make a video soon showing the start of the rebuild and getting everyones opinion; at the same time I'll look to see if a dry clutch is available. Thank you so much for the comment and I am very sorry to hear your bike was stolen.

    • @MotoGold
      @MotoGold ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations on the Monster R. Yes there were issues when first putting on the exhaust, I had to add a DynoJet and have it tuned because the bike ran lean leading to fire coming out of the exhaust, which looks cool but not ideal for the engine or maximum horsepower. I would highly recommend the single barrel SC Project CR-T exhaust for a few reasons. First the single barrel weighs almost nothing which you will definitely notice in acceleration and more so in breaking. Second, the sound is undeniably breath taking. It sounds like a muscle car but is not obnoxious, elegant but strong. Third, the single barrel really shows off the rear rim and aesthetically flows with the minimalistic features of the bike. I know adding the DynoJet with a tune is a little bit extra of an expense, but trust me you will be so happy you did it. The bike will run way smoother, produce more power, and sound incredible. Thank you for the comment and I apologize for not responding sooner. Please let me now if you decide to go with the CR-T? Best, Mike.

      Sorry for just getting back to you, I am just starting to film again now that it's getting warmer out. No the Monster 1200 R does not come with a quick shifter or auto blip. They do make an aftermarket QS with auto-blip, but I decided not to add it to the bike. I personally like going through the gears and appreciate the retro cafe racer personality it brings to the bike. I would save that upgrade for a pure sports bike, I think the Monster R's character is really derived from raw power with minimal rider aids. The bike is currently at Ducati getting a clear clutch installed with a custom painted pressure plate and 24k gold plated center ring. As soon as I pick it up this Tuesday I'll make sure to upload a video.

      Man I'm glad to see your comment. I feel like the Ducati Monster 1200 R is the forgotten SuperNaked. I know the new HyperNaked's are amazing, but the Monster 1200 R really is a unique bike. Usually I use the Ruroc 2.0 Atlas helmet, but when I'm filming with my GoPro I use a much larger modular helmet. The difference in wind resistance between the two helmets and its impact on the bike at high speeds is massive. With the Ruroc I can comfortably do 160mph (I use the OEM Diablo Rosso III Tires with plenty of tread), in 4th gear the bike hits about 145mph, kick it into 5th plus a little gas and your at 160mph in no time. With the GoPro I really feel the wind at 135mph. Also I highly recommend upgrading your grips, because the Rizoma grips screw into the handle bar it gives you a way better feeling over the acceleration and general control of the bike. I look forward to chatting more and I'll try and get some new content out soon.

    • @pg6576

      @@MotoGold It's a niche bike. Test road a V4 Streetfighter Fri ( I ride everything), and I'm keeping this. I have grips, termi, tune, Puig, crg arrows, duc low seat, susp is dialed in 100%. Have played around with bar riser, gearing, screen, basically went back to stock. You're helmet comment is well taken. Tough to know how aero my Shoei RF SR is.

    • @MotoGold
      @MotoGold 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pg6576 I'm sure your Shoei is the same if not better than the Ruroc, its my big Daytona modular helmet with the big square GoPro that makes a noticeable difference; and its not until well past 120mph before it becomes a noticeable issue. Thats awesome what you have done to your bike! I'm jealous of the seat, that's definitely on my list. How did you get your suspension dialed in? I have done a lot of research on the R suspension and all it did was convince me I don't know what I am doing and I don't think most people do; so I have been hesitant to let anyone touch my suspension. Also have you messed with lithium batteries at all? I installed a Shorai about three weeks ago, it fried my power commander V then wouldn't hold a charge putting my bike in the shop for three weeks. What did you think of the Streetfightger? How does it compare to R? when I was purchasing the R every sales person was pushing me to the Streetfighter, but these sales people don't understand there's a difference between technology and rider experience. I don't want a quick shifter, I think the R is the perfect combo between classy, sporty, and ergonomic. Plus I believe its one of the most beautiful bikes ever made. If your going to buy a race bike get a Panigale or S1000RR, go all out. The Monster R is just a special one of a kind beast. What else do you ride?

    • @pg6576
      @pg6576 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotoGold I'm probably older than you and have had every kind of bike under the sun pretty much. So now I have the monster and I just picked up a crf-300 l Goofy dual-sport stuff. Street Fighter is an impressive bike, very fast, but it's lacking the character the monster has. I prefer twins over the V 4. On a racetrack a might be a little quicker I don't know but for the street it didn't interest me, the position is more aggressive also. The fit and finish isn't as good as our bike. I agree on quick shifter that's why I still drive a manual car as opposed to a DCT M3. As for suspension, that just takes some experience. You have to start with having someone help you set the SAG in the rear to about 25 to 30 millimeters and in the front to about 40 millimeters. Depends on your weight. This is one of those bikes that came from the factory really really good so I only changed compression a few clicks. and it's also a personal preference thing. You can adjust the steering damper also I usually go up 2 or 3 on that.

    • @MotoGold
      @MotoGold 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pg6576 I'm 35 and have only been riding motorcycles consistently for about a year. For a short time in my teens I had a CBR600 RR, but family pressure persuaded me to sell the bike. I am 100% with you on the manual car, that's actually what caused me to buy the monster. In high-school I had a 98 Mustang Cobra. The feeling of a heavy clutch, metal on metal short shifter, high torque to weight ratio, and no computers to save you; it's the most thrilling thing in the world. Before buying the monster I was dreaming / contemplating how to get a 2005 Viper with the V10 Lamborghini engine, I figured that was the last great sports car without any computer aids; but I couldn't justify or afford the price including maintenance. I briefly looked at the cost of a motorcycle and was blown away. After about two months of deep research into bikes I knew the Monster R was special and I had to have one. Currently I am leasing the 2020 BMW X3M Competition which has like 550HP and 500TQ, something like that. I wish I bought the bike before I did my lease. After driving the bike I don't think there is an automatic car out there that will give you the same thrill. People discount how valuable a tool the clutch is for complete control of a vehicle. Anyone can press a pedal and steer; driving / racing a manual car takes skill, practice, expertise and is something you can always improve on. For now it's becoming a lost art but I think in the future when manual is completely phased out the great manual vehicles like the Monster R and 2005 Viper will go way up in value. Do you have any new projects planned for your Monster? I am trying to decide on my next upgrade. I know I will need new tires in about 2,500 miles so I was thinking of saving up putting on Rapid-Tek gold carbon fiber wheels when I replace the tires, which I am sure will run close to $6k after installation. There are a lot of other upgrades I could make with 6K, so I am a little indecisive right now and definitely appreciate any suggestions or advice.

I just hold down the clutch when I'm in closed or residential areas and there is no problem. I never set off car alarms and have yet to get one complaint. Actually it's been the opposite, I was pulled over by a police officer the other day and he told me he basically just wanted to check out the bike then went on to complement the sound of the exhaust.
