thanks for the vid, I am just looking at getting one so 7 years on how is the radio going On the subject of radios I see that you have a Grundig in the background, I use to have an old valve model back in the 80-90's not sure what happened to it I did not know that they still made them. I have its very close sibling, the Sony ICF-19. This version runs on D cells, so it's on the original set after 2 years. Great DSP radio.

G'day Phil how's it going buddy. 8:46 into the video you're referring to the "buzzing" noise when in Side Band? That station you heard was not an Amateur station so SSB mode will sound strange, it is a Broadcast station. For SSB to work effectively, you need to enable it when you come across a station where it sounds like "Donald Duck" or "a mouth full of socks". It may not be a radio problem, I'm thinking your radio runs normal. Any issues let me know and I'll be glad to help 👍

I am totally new to this type of radio and am a bit lost. You review was great, but can you do it again with the volumne turned on the radio. Yes Im 79 and a bit deaf but still I only heard some of your review. chrs Craig A

Is there a manual or a t clues how to tune the stations?

Would have been better if not playing the radio when you speak. Just changed the batteries. Deciding whether to throw away. Time sets and displays. Can't figure out how to do a y tuning.

Can it work as a radio

I have 2 B models and 1 has a FM board fitted and a few other mods when I bought it. But over the time it seems to me that other like amateur radio users put it down they thing it should be as good as a high end pro radio. Look guys NO RADIO on Earth is GREAT. it is a SWL radio and with a few mods here and there it does pretty good. I like my 2 as they perform pretty good. I think some people out there want utter perfection.

Excellent reception on this little radio! I have a video of it on my channel. Unfortunately my telescopic antenna is broken and now missing, and there are many generic ones online, but i don't know the exact length of the original.

The CCrane is Chinese plastic garbage

I’m pretty sure that it was released in Europe the same time as the ICF-2003 in North America. It pretty much was the same radio.

I had mine in the back shed for over a year. Ants moved in and nested in it. Took me a LONG 5+ hours to get them all out and their eggs! I have now cleaned it all up and it works like new. What a great radio. It looks great, is a lot of nostalgic fun to tune around with and the only time i get to hear deep bass from a shortwave radio. Its probably my favourite radio and it is the oldest, from 1975, A real winner

Nice Video !!!You have noise on the 2000 cause the receiver is in wide mode when on the 7730 Khz freq test.I never use Wide on the unit its way to wide other channels bleed in and more atmospheric noise too.I have both radios and many more and to me there pretty equal the 2000 is more sensitive across all bands slightly but the strong point is the MW on the 2000 is very very good with the rotating ferrite . Also ability to actually use a outdoor antenna on the 2000 that disconnects the internal MW antenna is a huge plus.Also a great LW radio on out door antenna maybe the best portable LW/MW DXer still made even today as the eton 750.
