Nobody plays more battles than Warriorjmac5. Dude was doing 10+ tournies monthly for who knows how long. Aurorus was my MVP last month and in Pillar.

Great watching the Pillar Cup discussion and battling with Sosa. This meta may just come down to the same 8-10 mons, but at least teambuilding is breezy and it's accessible. Hopefully it'll play well.

Pretty damning of the format that nobody wants to play it XD I locked in Malamar / Aurorus / Gol / Blastoise immediately and then slapped in Gliscor & HK9, the Arcanine hasn't seen play. Like Brown Baller, I despise how free Heatran is. Naturally I'm facing one in the finals, good thing my team is stacked against it. Saw a surprising number of shadow Sceptile in my local.

Epic Sosa clutch. I'll agree with Baller, some of these 1-pointers are must-haves and it's not a good thing. Still salty I don't have a Nidorina, I locked HK9 instead and it hasn't seen play. Shadow Heatran is absolutely unfair at 1 point, and only one person in my local has it and naturally it's my rival so I'll have to defeat it in the finals... I locked Malamar / Aurorus / Blastoise immediately for building the team, Golisopod hasn't had a better meta and Grass/Electric aren't even types in Go thanks to Niantic's lack of balancing skills. Gliscor is my 6th mon, doubt it'll see play, either. In short, I think Chaos Cup plays out all right, but I knock it down to a D-tier for the awful teambuilding restrictions and fails on the point allotment. Normally I really enjoy teambuilding and thinking of possibilities, but this month I just slapped a squad together, cursed my lack of a Nidorina, and never gave it a second thought.

Back after going to bed, what a treat this vid was. Beautiful Crypt format, immaculate play from the champ, opponents played so sharp as well. Congrats to Rhyblet for once again showing us how it's done. I knew from the moment I looked at the format that Meteor Mash Clefable was the truth. I wanted to use shadow Magmortar, but in the end I decided on my local-winning team of Lokix, Alolan Marowak, Dusknoir, Spiritomb, MM Clefable, and Shiinotic. Non-shadow Marowak was key for surviving against Marowak & Lapras to clinch the semis & finals. Won the finals against my rival off of a Clefable mirror, his Clefable got mashed. If I could redo the team, I'd drop Spiritomb, which never saw use because nobody brought Poison mons and everybody had Fairy/Dark damage. No one suspected the double Fairy inquisition.

After midnight here, saw this on my recommended list, gotta buff that GOOD algorithm for ya. I'll be back to watch tomorrow :)

Oof. I think DevonCorps made a Silph Season 2 blunder. Ferocious Cup was so inaccessible. I started PoGo in 2019 and had a wonderful time with Sinister. Then they hit us with the "do ya got a Last Resort Umbreon? No? Well, sucks to be you." Chaos Cup is too confusing for newer battlers. I am 90% certain there will be battlers at my local that will register illegal teams entirely by accident because they are heavily on the spectrum and they are already doing their best playing in normal monthly metas. Points + having to do three of each side of a chart is just a mess. Fun fact, the only mons that beat both 5-pointers in the 1-shield are Blastoise & Golisopod.

Here's a more positive comment to buff your vid's stats. My Crypt team would look like: Runerigus, Spiritomb, Shiinotic, Clefable, Froslass, and Shadow Hippowdon. I don't have a Marowak or Dusknoir. Might use Shadow Golurk over the hippo, but then I have three ghosts.

Great podcast per always. FishOnAHeater asking the real questions... if we're not happy with the game now, why play? I have asked myself that plenty and, surprise surprise, I haven't been playing. Water is still overpowered while Grass and Fire can hardly be found. The game state is as much of a hot mess or more now than before. Power to everybody who's loving the new meta, not going to rain on that parade, but I put in a few sets with Shadow Golurk and called it a day. Hopefully Crypt plays well. I miss Sinister Cup. If I can muster up the motivation to play, it'd be neat to use this Spiritomb I've been sitting on for years.
