Nice 👍
can you do a video on melodies?
Still the only guy I watch on YT for piano advice! Dynamite and something usable every time :D
Roger, Just discovered your channel through this video and you just helped me out so much. Subscribed and going to binge your vids. A natural teacher. You deserve waaay more followers. Thanks for the great content and keep going. 🌊
bro you just unlocked something in my mind that goes beyond them keys
Keep messin’ around then.

Only 12 comments? Lol. Less IS more. Needed these 10 minutes and 27 seconds. Appreciate you, sir!
incredibly beautiful harmony, lush as hell
Great video, and congrats on nearly 10k subs!! I like the digital piano display, but as a near total beginner learning from youtube, it would be super helpful to see your hands when you play 🥲 Have you gone into how you choose chords before working out their voicings in any of your videos? Something like harmonic function, maybe? That's kind of the part that has me the most confused. I tend to default into basic (overused) chord progressions. Is it mostly about ear training and knowing what you want to communicate through music? Or is it more theoretical?
Nice, thanks Roger. I appreciate the insights.
It would be rad to be able to see your hands/fingers when you are doing those embellishments around 4min mark, to understand the technique better. Love your videos! changed my music forever, #grateful
Man you make simple chords sound so soulful. Appreciate you
You've got the nicest taste - super deep. Totally agree re not overwhelming the listener.
thank!
I agree. Less is more! 🎹
🎯
Very good! I'll try this tomorrow in my band!
I hope it helps!
First - always great to see an upload! Thank you for this!
Your support means a lot!
Wow very easily explained
thank you
2:47 Major , Minor , Minor , Major , Major , Minor , Diminished Aight boom Thank you friend, major love.
Thank you!
Instant sub
show us how to play It
Could you show us the entire playing?
Think I’m gonna cry 🥹
Really fucking awesome
Yes
I find it so amazing that when just two intervals are put together it can sound horrible but then you build other things around it, it sounds amazing.
I've been playing with these concepts since this video was posted months ago....yike$ transformative.....its not all in the info tho...its showing your voicings...🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Omg! Thank you so much!🤍🤍
youre awesome man, great video as always

I found your page on Instagram and came to TH-cam to check you out. I could listen to you play all day man. So beautiful
@@prodbyjoeysilver I appreciate it, man. That means a lot
my man don't miss
Great vid roger. Quick question - when you do Melodie’s over parallel chords do you have to stay in the key of each chord playing at that moment?
absolutely gorgoeus
you just opened my mind thank you.
Could u please just release a album? just like that. With u way to do the things. PLEASSSEEE😢😢😢😢
How beautiful
This was so wonderfully relaxing. Doom scrolling through and this was like a cool breeze on the face to snap me back to the moment.
Beautiful!! How do you get the keyboard at the top of the screen?
That last tip is the one...I've been doing this with new chords I learn for a while...just being able to have my fingers go right to a chord shape instead of worrying about key...I can always figure out the key with where I put my 5th finger on my left hand 👊🏾🎹🔥
There you go. The left hand gives a lot of insight!
No Doubt!... Big Up + Bless Up....
Do you have any tips how to properly learn the piano? I have been learning piano for a year now but i feel like i dont know nothing about it (im learning all by myself from the internet) thanks for this vid btw, really helpful. You are the best!
Find a course! LEARN YOUR SCALES!! jam along to music you like, Learn grooves and solos Rick beatos “all music theory you need to know” lecture is great and then setting out to learn it! Have a roadmap! And then play music and jam as you go / as you learn it
@@xyzyzx1253 thank youu!
Remember, you dont need to know how to explain music in order to make it sound good, try to have a joyfull time adjusting your technique while you learn , just allow yourself to have musical moments with play alongs, embrace the mistake. and i suggest focusing on learning music , not just piano. I mean, rythm exercises, singing, record yourself, difference between practice and performance, u need to know that improvisation/interpretation need different methods, guess all of that will help. dont let your mind overpass your technique and expression, feel free not to put names on everything, music is a language by itself. good luck!
@@lucasreychapur wow, thank you so muuch!!! 🫶🏼
I appreciate it! I second everything that's been said. I would recommend you to learn your scales (major and minor), basic chord types (major, minor, diminished, and augmented), and number system (I have a video on my channel). There's other stuff to learn, but this is a good starting spot. Make sure you're finding ways to enjoy the process while doing so.
totally a vid that i didn't know i needed, thank u a lot, ur videos help me a lot thanks
Thanks for watching! I'm glad I'm able to help.
Man more of these videos would be amazing
Now we need deceptive cadence! 🎶
