CONTENT NOT QUALITY! (lol)
Welcome to our channel, former US Army Cav Scout now an IT monkey, and a fiber arts business owner and van lifer in our 50s still getting out and having two wheeled adventures. Most MTB TH-camrs are young, and or skilled riders...you will not find that here! This channel is about the trails, the races and the people we are lucky enough to be able to ride with! Recovery Laps With Sheila

Sheila is working on getting back to her ripping self, but it takes time and she is doing the work! NOTE: Sorry about the quality of the videos as of late, the software I have been using for years went to an expensive subscription model and took away many of the features it had. We don't make money with this channel so I am shopping for new software (which I ten have to learn to use...weeee)

Summer Flashback #2 Scoping Out Sky Tavern Bike Park
Hey mate, great info! How does it perform downhill compared to the Kenevo SL? And what about battery range if used in the second mode? I know that everything depends on the settings, but I'm just looking to get an idea. Thanks
Heya, so the Relay is a bit more responsive then the kSL, with the KSL I felt like I could plow over everything, the Relay is more poppy in that respect. The Relay has pretty good battery life for what it is really.
I gotta do that one. Next year.
That was a lot of BOING, BOING, and DOINGS going on there. But yay for "Sheila Cam"!
😆
Hi, do you know if it cimes with the bearings?. Thankyou
Yep new enduro bearings are installed
About time another video came out. Glad you guys got some riding in. Although, I was disappointed that there wasn't any shots of these magnificent taco's you keep talking about...
Heh next time we will do that!
I have to admit, I thought this video was going to be about how disappointed you were for your birthday. I had a great laugh when I saw that it was the name of a trail. Good job. Nice ride! It sure looked steep on some of those parts.
LOL hod not thought of that!
That was such an awesome day. Follow the dust trail 😅.We like the steeps😅😅
Are these the new trails at Stub? let me know when you go back to Stub, I've been itching to get back riding again!
Just Greenhorn and Railyard, nothing new open yet.
Looking great dude!
Just join NWTA so I can ride this place. I wasn't sure Ebike were except but I rolled the dice . I'm pretty old and can only get out about once a week if I'm lucky, don't understand all the Ebike hate out there. How does what I choose to ride affect your life in any way?
Just got my wife one of these. Be here soon!!
It’s pronounced “AL-SEA”. Al, like Al Bundy, See, like ocean
Bummer these motors are so horrible
Yeah its funny, my wife's has been trouble free but it seems to be the exception to the norm.
@NerdsonDirtMTB woo... do tell ?! I'm eyeing bikes with this motor, and hadn't heard much issues, other than overtorqued ring controller short. Seems like such a sweet middle ground, tho a hair more Nm might be killer. I would worry/wonder if economy goes sour, can the motor co stay alive. Trying a bunch of other bikes on what should be dependable systems lately, many issues out of the gate.... kinda wonder if it's a hangover from the boom days, during supply shortages.... that they all rushed a bunch of product.... 🤷♂️
Did you use a gloss ride wrap? Looks sick!
Yeah, I really liked how it turned out and it easier to clean than the matte!
Woooo.... linky linky?
We gotta get together soon bro!!
Sup nerds 😎
🤪
Woohoo! Welcome back to the mountain! Loved how the video started with "Oh look, a tree" and ended with "Indecision got me" brought on by...another tree. Good times. Glad you and Sheila were able to go out riding again. Go Sheila Cam!
Que son los auriculares y donde se colocan mi estimado por favor
I hope the motor quirks are figured out before I get mine in a week.
My wife's has been a flawless performer so far so I'm hoping I just got unlucky.
Is this in long island?
Nope, Portland OR
Wie viel km schafft man mit dem Levo bei einer Tour maximal? Lg
I have tried the cascade long link on a S3 levo alloy with the same shock and the shock rubs the frame at full compression
Interesting, I'd not heard of that have you contacted Cascade on that?
@@NerdsonDirtMTB no I haven't contacted cascade yet, because I want to try if a coil shock fits
@@rogerBtt Ahhhh gotcha
Lava tubes.....that is all. Also, great ride. Glad you could get out before all the cold and rain.
Can’t wait until my ankle is ready to do this ride! I wanna see the lava tubes
Fork travel?
170mm
Awesome and nice to see you included the map of your riding trail! I'm a beginner and thinking about hitting this trail. It looks nice trail to ride.
Catamount is a great beginner trial! And it hold up pretty well when its wet too.
Such a sick bike. Just ordered a Relay PNW XO AXS, can't wait!
i'm thinking of same but with the 160 cascade link(good for lighter riders)
Awesome!
What a fun weekend. Congrats on 3rd and a fun safe race😊
Good job on first buddy! My goal for next year is to make less silly mistakes lol.
Did your derailer get derailed? 🤣 And a surprise appearance by Sheila? Even got the boot in the video. Congrats on getting 3rd, even if you did have some challenges on that second leg of the race.
Yeah we were laughing about the boot, missed that in editing we spotted it on the first watch lol
'Promosm' 😳
What MTB your riding in this video?
Older, vid prolly a 2020 or 2019 Trek Remedy 9.8
What rear fender is that? Nice update!
It was a sicko MTB fender, ordered it from the UK but had to remove it with the new link
@@NerdsonDirtMTB thanks!
Is it called rattlesnake due to all of the tree roots? Holy cow, there were quite a few there. And dangit, now I want some tacos!
I think it is, and if you are in Bend Sanchos Tacos is not to be missed!
I am newer to MTB and enjoy watching your content. It helps me "pre-ride" these spots.
Awesome, that was kind of the original intent of the channel, to show my Nor Cal friends the great trails we have here, and things just kinda grew from there. Thanks for watching!
We got a crikey and a yeehaw in the same video! And 2x the sticky buns! 🤣
lol
Have not ridden passive yet,
Its good now, gonna be great next season!
Im thinking about go to the same setup! Already upgraded the fork for 23 zeb 170. Is it a alloy?
Yep, it started on an alloy but I swapped it over to a carbon frame with no issues.
This was a fun race
Yeah Bones was the highlight of the day for me!
3rd place! Congrats! And my favorite line was "oooo....tree."
5th actually and I swear that tree moved
I thought ebikes weren't allowed at Klootchy Creek in September?
Yeah I got out there the week before they shut it down to eBs.. I had forgotten that was a thing too, got lucky
@@NerdsonDirtMTB Cool. Looking forward to hitting it next month.
@@shaunbarrett5284 Its a brutal 2 mile 900ft fire road climb, but its worth it even on an analog bike lol
@@NerdsonDirtMTB Is it on the Low Tide side or Defibrillator side?
@@shaunbarrett5284 It empties right at the new top of Defib.
I would have had a death grip going as well. Some of those drops looked pretty sheer to me. Kudos to you handling it so well.
LOL
Beautiful bike!
Nice ride without all of the snow. Kind of scary with that sheer cliff wall on the left and the drop to the river on the right. But very scenic! And yes, it is nice to see water back in Cali. And to end on such a cliff hanger! Hope you feel better, Sheila!
salut. perfect . peace out-Nerds. 😍
When was this video footage shot?
June 24th, 2023. We were so surprised at the amount of snow!
What pressure do you run in the super deluxe now mate ? Also can you do a video of the performance of it on the trails ? Cheers good stuff
Im running one token, and 230 Psi. Its been amazing. Bike is more supportive over all and handles the big hits way better!
Is Shiela's Relay X-Small? and did it come with 27.5" wheels?
Its a small, and we did a 27.5 out back.
@@NerdsonDirtMTB If you don't mind. How tall is she and what is her approx. inseam? My wife is 4'10" and I think the XS may fit but Transition refuses to give even an estimate of a standover height and unfortunately that measurement is critical for her.
@@thezonemtb Heyo, her approx inseam is 29 and when I asked her about standover she said "huh its not been an issue" (mullet mode with the link in high" but she has 0 standover
Does the bike feel too long? Was the power for climbing sufficient? This bike is near the top of my list. The other being the new Levo sl. Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks
I have a long torso and long "monkey" arms lol, so I run a 40mm stem so 480-485 is my sweet spot. The power is pretty good, its not full gas Levo power but its pretty good. Power wise the Relay will have a bit more pep than the Levo SL, but I think the SL might be more reliable as its a 3rd gen motor where the Fazua is first gen and it feels like it needs some work. I will probably end up with an SL at some point.
@@NerdsonDirtMTB thank you so much and enjoy that Relay
