Solo Leveling: The Anime that's too SLOW for its own Good
Is Solo Leveling's anime too slow? 🤔 While the manhwa had a fast-paced, thrilling progression, the anime feels dragged out with poor pacing and stretched-out scenes. With Season 1 ending at an underwhelming point and Season 2 lacking enough content for a full season, is the anime living up to the hype or falling flat? Let's break down the pacing issues, adaptation changes, and what could have been done better.

Too slow??? THe anime flies through the manwa chapters way too fast
They are rushing way too much, idk what you're talking about. The manwha experience is much more immersive and actuaslly has cool details that the anime is definitely lacking
Giving u a like on this. U are 100% correct. I tried putting my brother on but he didnt like it and it was because of the pacing. He is not a reader and nothing kept him attacthed like us who already know the characters. The ending of season 1 is not a good ending for nonreaders at all. If they picked up the pacing as u said and had better payoffs the anime would be legendary but they are dragging it out tremendously.
Ive read the manwha and they have cut out multiple parts of the lore. if they make it any faster then they would have to cut big chunks of whats actually significant. it sounds like your brother doesn't like world building but likes cool fights and amazing moments all the time wich is fine to each there own. PSA: if they make the anime any faster then they would lose most of there reader fanbase but if they make it any slower then they would lose most of there only anime fanbase. its a very fine line that they have to take.
@brayanrodriguez5163 I bet u loved dragon ball z when it took 4 episodes for a power move 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@mysticlegion8088 I mean is it the same? I am not dissing your preference I find it intriguing. I am only giving you a different perspective because almost all of the fanbase wants it to be slower-paced PSA: maybe its just not your preference in anime/your brother. but the good thing is there is multiple anime out there.😁
I don't know man. To me each episode feels like 5 min. Pacing seems good.
Wtf, we got an good Anime Adaption and you guys still crying about it... this cancel culture is cancer for the whole Community.
I feel like a lot of critiques heavily misunderstand Mufasa: The Lion King. I may be biased considering how I enjoyed the film (although it is not without its faults) but still, I find it a stretch to assume that it "destroys" the legacy of the original film (I flat-out disagree with the notion that *any* piece of media can "ruin" a classic, or one's "childhood" considering how you still have the original to go off of even with this existing sequel into account. I also disagree with the "cash-grab" critique because every film is released with the intent to make a profit, including good ones like The Lion King), and I get the feeling that you haven't really *watched* the film at all. Starting off with the fact that on an objective scale, Mufasa: The Lion King is set in a different continuity than the animated films, as it's supposed to be a prequel/sequel of the 2019 remake of The Lion King. Whilst one can interpret it as a prequel to the 1994 original, nothing is actively retconned as you and many other critics claim it is. Additionally, Mufasa did not "usurp" the throne from Taka, (A.K.A.) Scar. If you had watched the film, you would know that Taka's original kingdom was destroyed by the Outsider lion pride and that he and Mufasa went to a different land (the Pride Lands) where Taka had no claim to lead or rule. Mufasa earned his position of king by exhibiting his leadership skills to unite the animals against a common threat. Meanwhile Scar was someone who grew up in a place of privelige, was fed toxic beliefs by his father, and thus grew up entitled, resorting to betraying his loved ones for his own pursuits. That's the furthest thing from sympathetic. I too dislike the idea of Scar being a sympathetic/tragic villain + Mufasa being a usurper, and feared that the movie would take this route, but upon watching it, I can safely say it does not. A villain's descent into villainy being shown to us does not inherently mean that they are being depicted in a sympathetic light. I also do not agree with how it "tosses aside" Simba's journey. Simba's journey was about facing his past and taking back what was his. That can mutually co-exist with Mufasa's story about becoming a king in spite of his lacking of noble blood. Also the whole "classics being remade to push modern agendas" is outright false. All forms of art are political in some sense to push some message. The Lion King in of itself had some environmental messages within it. Beauty and the Beast + Mulan tackled themes of sexism, Tangled was a story about parental abuse and gaslighting, and Princess and the Frog had themes of racism woven into its conflict. Disney didn't *become* political, they've always been that way, and it feels like a heavy handwave to pass this off as a critique of the movie. Overall a very poor, surface-level critique of the movie. If you haven't watched it [which I suspect you haven't based off of several talking points as well as how vague said points were], then I implore you do and form your own opinions off of it, because it is so much more than what you make it out to be. If you have watched it, this is definitely the wrong takeaway to have for this film, and again, a very poor critique nonetheless.
I think Mufasa fits the original Lion King universe better than it fits the live action universe. I don’t like the band of the movie though. Mufasa:The Lion King? Why not call it The Legend of Mufasa or something like that.
Absolutely true about childhood memories but trauma but it is very important for different ways to see just feel so loved knowing the backstory of scar with a movie about mufasa vary heartbreaking when the person who played mufasa from the original pass away that probably have gotten people so sad and then the whole movie have gotten so emotional about this but everyone in the movie have been emotional too that maybe people who saw it so emotionally but its really good movie just very different way i really hope this movie will come onto dvd
I agree with the changes
they didn't ruin disney they made the movie a tribute to Earl Jones
Saw the movie yesterday at the cinema, where I was surprised how many of these Lion King Popcorn buckets were still available to buy (30), a big contrast to Alien Romulus which was sold out immediately. The movie had moments of the same magic as the original( 5-10%), but it felt like a direct to VHS movie which could have just as easily come out after the third movie...Aka meh..
It should've been called tale of two brothers, Mufasa and Scar should've stayed blood brothers, Mufasa and Scar should have fought each other, and making Scar jealous over a girl seemed very weak. It had potential but the story was too weak for someone to want to rewatch the movie
The director of the original Lion King said that Mufasa and Scar are not brothers.
@crashban4t.f.s.b783 they weren't supposed to be but they changed it so the betrayal would be harsher.
This movie brings more open minded thinking and perspective into the story
I love Mufasa the lion king
Everyone is wrong it shows how scar became evil and why he is the way he is mufasa never stole anything it was given only people who cannot see say it's bad watch again and maybe you will understand
yeah you're right, we didnt need this
What I'm afraid is that the original lion king might lose love and I don't want this to happen. If only Bob iger wasn't the CEO of Disney
I don't think the original would lose love But it dose tarnish its legacy
@@Oraj25i really hope so. But may i ask you something, if Disney close what will happen to all the movies, series and characters it created?
If they close some other company will buy them
@@Oraj25imagine if this company will be paramount (they will handle Disney's legacy better than Bob Iger did)
@@Oraj25can you imagine paramount baying them (at least they will respect Disney's legacy better than Bob Iger did)
In my opinion the main canon is the animated film that everyone including me they love while the live action introduces a new canon, which must not be intercepted with the original
Ya but the problem is these movies Ara remakes of the original so I feel like it's rewrite the original
Nice review. I felt exactly the same thing after watching mufasa.

❤
It’s a good show. Even a great show. It’s most definitely not a masterpiece of TV history haha
Amazing show
Yep it's. Amazing
❤
yaa this did go in a very different path then expected
I loved most of season one and was hoping they’d focus on building a functional civilization while advancing but it seemed like they were just trying to have a reason to invent random gadgets without a real reason behind it
Yap when I first watched season 1 I also thought they would build a fictional civilization
You lost me fairly quickly, and I think the reason can be summed up in your thoughts and the first episode. You seemed to enjoy the fairly accurate progression at the start but disliked the whimsical aloof way they get far more advanced things to progress the story. So you want a more scientific and factual progression. That is fine, but first episode, somewhere somehow then entire world turns to stone, people actually wake up from being turned to stone and can even broken apart glued together and revived non of that fits the desire for a a more scientific and factual story. The bottom line is this a fantasy story, that like to educate about science and it never stopped doing that. Yes things has to speed up for the story, if you know how it ends then you would know the slow logical story from the beginning would have made this a 1000 year long story. But we have stone age tech to possible future tech in few seasons, it could NEVER happen without those "issues" and I would rather have the story then not.
I understand
*MANGA SPOILERS* *MANGA SPOILERS* You make some points, but I don't think they're good points. The first one I thought about was the ship. Although it did seem straightforward and simple, they had to still find the resources, find a way to deal with the warping, look for oil, and a few other things. The ship building wasn't supposed to be this huge thing like the sulfa drug or cell phone, it was supposed to introduce two new characters and set the path for the developments they make along the way to obtaining the medusa. It introduced the hot air balloon, the metal detector, agriculture, the drone, carbon fiber, and also brought way of character development for Hyoga in his fight on treasure island, it showed the determination of Senku and Byakuya in their endeavor to revive humanity, and it also gave us a look into how Senku isn't an overpowered, gung ho all the way dude. It shows that he does fold, and that he can settle for less, which isn't what he normally does, he usually sees it through and is determined to complete his goal. As for this latest season, the calcite claim you make is a fair take, but it has been established multiple times that Chrome is the "Resource King", and it was even said that they found the calcite in the skarn deposit, all the way back near the beginning of season 2. Saying it was convenient was just wrong, because the journey they go through to get it is well established. It gave Magma the development he deserved and also led to them making the phone. I would agree with you more if you said them getting tungsten was easy, because calcite is far more common, but you didn't bring that up. Moving on to the point about how former enemies becoming allies. I agree, they did not add enough tension between them, like Hyoga joining, along with Moz and such, but there is a fairly plausible reason as to why. Season 2 we see senku revive mirai, and attempt to save tsukasa. This leads to tsukasa giving in, he's dead and won't be able to attack the Kingdom of Science, along with senku showing an effort to save him, and tsukasa killing senku, he owes them a lot. Hyoga had a set idea that everyone has a purpose and should be valued almost equally. This is why he helps in season four, because Moz's beliefs go against his in a way. Come to season 4 and they revive Moz and Hyoga, this is because tsukasa is on the Science side, they can't really do anything if they take over because they're on a boat, and they have no reason to if they are being given a second chance. Your take that it has gone away from slow development to convenience is a good take. The effort that is required to progress decreases, but only because they went through the long road maps and now have technology that makes it easier. This season also will move away from the convenience (sort of) and will be full of intense moments, like *MANGA SPOILERs* Senku being shot and Chrome becoming the lead scientist, or them traveling to Manaus and having to fight Stanely and his soldiers. I love this show, and I know that it becomes convenient in some ways, but as you said, it is a testament/love letter to human ingenuity and science, but if you look at science in the past, it also became easier in some ways. Progress leads to even more progress. Overall, I think your video was great and made some good points. This was just me commenting on it, as I am a huge fan of the show, and this wasn't to say you're wrong. If you read this, thank you, and if you see anything wrong with this, or want elaboration, just comment on it. And to any other readers who got spoiled by this comment, that's your own fault. I made my initial warnings very clear, and added some near the end. Sincerely, Paragraph Guy

I think there should be a freeze on all super hero movies until roughly 2030. No more marvel or DC forsure. Watch how much more people will appreciate them .
They will never do that tho😔
I genuinely do not understand the hate for this series, especially considering it hasn't even come out yet. Everyone's treating it like it's Velma. This isn't the first time they've race-changed characters. They did it with Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Shocker, Liz Allen, Sally Avril and MJ in the MCU and Jessica Drew in Across the Spider-Verse and there were no complaints then, so how is race changing the Osborns any different, this isn't the first time they've been race changed either since it also happened in the that mini Spidey comic series back in 2015-2016. I'm going to be in the minority by saying that the animation and designs felt pretty solid, especially the swinging bits. It gave me Ultimate Spider-Man game mixed with MTV, MCU and Spider-Verse vibes. In terms of Peter's group of friends, it sucks that we don't get MJ, Ned Leeds or Gwen Stacy or even Flash Thompson; I am intrigued by what Runaways' Nico Minoru has to offer as Peter's bestie in this series. As odd as it is to have Tombstone as one of Peter's classmates (I wish that was Randy Robinson, but I digress) again, this is nothing new since there were many incarnations where they've aged down Spider-Man's villains and have had as his schoolmates. They did it with Rhino twice: Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man (2017) and they did it with Electro in MTV Spider-Man, Molten Man in The Spectacular Spider-Man and Alistair Smythe in Marvel's Spider-Man (2017) In terms of Norman Osborn being Peter's mentor instead of Tony Stark and him already knowing Spider-Man's identity is something I'm genuinely curious as to how it's going to play out. Though I seriously doubt we're gonna get Green Goblin, it'll be way too soon. Given the Spider-Man TV shows we've got in the past, I will take this over the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. But nothing will ever beat The Spectacular Spider-Man! (In my opinion).
❤️❤️💯💯
1. The suit doesn’t “feel like Spider-Man” because it’s explicitly based on the Future Foundation suit, which was a team uniform, and not a standalone suit. 2. It’s heavily-likely not his final suit. At D23, we saw a lineup of all of Peter’s suits in the show, one of which was a classic, Romita/Ditko style suit.
Ai voice doesn't like creative art. Go figure.
👍
