UPGRADING MY CLUSTER ON MY Q50
If you’re thinking about upgrading your 14-17 speedometer to 18+ use this video to guide you through. 100+ worth it. Who wouldn’t want the digital speed.
Remember if you are doing this take note of your mileage before the installation because without programming you will carry on whatever mileage the new speedometer has.
This 18+ speedometer was purchased on eBay.
Shout out my boy @q50_retro for the quick install.

Bro please tell me where to get one for 2012 sonata
U had the SCS exhaust what made to change to the Ark
@@M0nkeymane blew a hole through the muffler. Ark is much more higher quality
What test pipes or hfc
I don’t know why people used to say ark grip couldn’t fit on the 3.7 meanwhile it’s an exact fit 💀😂
i have a question this z1 tune is just with the muffler delete? stock cats right? Also are the pops, burbles louder in person??I want to get this tune but i want it worth the money for the burble sounds
Still working good no issues?
@@yassenallen7678 no issues
@@NotBigL w, great video too and your Q is hella clean bro🔥
You should have gotten the apex digital dash.
how has it held up any problems?
@@q50.oscar. i only kept the tune for a few months, ended up going fbo and getting a custom tune
I have a question. I have a 2020 m340i and wanted to do an mhd tune as well because my bmw dealer downloaded a software update without me knowing and the exhaust is much quieter and the throttle feels a bit weaker. I don’t know if you know the software update I’m referring to but if you did receive that update, did you tune your car after and get much better results as in louder pops and bangs and aggressive gear shifts? Outside of that, has the car been reliable or given you any issues?I just want to keep it at stage 1, maybe stage 2 later down the line.
2.0 or the 3.0 speedometer or doesn’t matter
@@DavidQ50 only 3.0
Hybrid ?
Good lookin good vid
fye mad easy
Can you change the mileage on the car to what it actually is?
Yes you can get it reprogrammed
@@NotBigL is that something you can do at home or do you have to bring it somewhere
The 2015 doesn’t have a digital speedometer!? The 2003 Z has a digital speedometer, that’s crazy.
what exhaust do you have? ark grip?
@@humzamalik1570 yes ark grip catback
@@NotBigL i have a 2019 Red Sport wanna do my exhaust and burble tune!
I have the same exhaust and I don’t know why so raspy but then some sound deep
Does the exhaust have the back resonators?
mid resonators and mufflers in the rear
Did it through a check engine light yet ?
@@hc7786 nope still good
@@NotBigL I just got a 2018 speedometer with 39 k miles on it my car has 111 k miles I’m wondering if I should reprogram it I know most ppl say it already has an internal storage for the original miles or the ECU will store it . But it’s plug and play.
@@hc7786 It’s all personal preference, if you track your miles then yes reprogram it but if you don’t mind leave it alone.
@@NotBigLjust installed minds just now. Said 39408 on the dash. Yours still has no check engine light ? lol
@@hc7786 Still no CEL through almost 3k miles.
Can you de pin the tpms that’s the most annoying thing on these clusters to deal with
Nice work bro
Easy peasy lol
I’m also a q50 owner and For people asking if the lvl1 tune feels different it does and I have nothing done to my car except a tune. I’d also like to note that before my tune my friends Audi a4 with a down pipe, intake , and (IE PERFORMANCE) tune and when I raced him stock he completely smoked me but just this one tune put 1 car length on him. The a4 made 283hp/350tq
This will cause issues later on. I did the same thing to get the digital speedometer. Got a CEL and other weird issues with the car and had to put back the OG gauge cluster.
how long did you have it on until the check engine light
@@tonyograndison69 I actually had it for over 6+ months until I ran into another issue. Once I got that other issue fixed the check engine never went away and I was battling what the problem was with the car for over a month. When you scanned it no codes popped up. Eventually I put back my OEM gauge cluster and the engine light disappeared.
The problem with the new gauge cluster is that it throws a u1000 code and that throws off the whole cars CAN Communication.
good to know, i'll see how long I have mine and see if I run into the same problem.
the older model cluster such as 2015 -2016 work well with the 2018 that doesn’t make any sense to throw a code unless you got it used .
Nice bro new watcher from queens Vq gang
Nice bro thanks for watching!
quick and simple‼️
is it just the 2018+ that has it?
yes the 14-17 do not have the digital speedometer.
Do the mph read the same as the old one ?
read mph as in what?
I don’t see the digital dash 😭
I meant digital speedometer 😂😂
Bro dead ass parked in the middle of the road 🤣! Fucking menace !
NYC edition
Stg bro tinted my tails in the middle of the ave😭
@@DayyB 😂😂😂
whats the main differences in the old and new cluster?
The new one has digital speedometer which the old one does not have.
W!
Let’s goo 🎉🎉🎉🎉
why is your wing shaped like that lol
So square looking 😅
😍😍
Hell yeah
dumb question but do you have a tune and which one
I have a custom tune from Real Auto Dynamics in Long Island, NY. I have another video on my channel of the tune day if you are interested.
those headers are crying, or your test pipes are done... thats why theres sparks..
Nah it’s bc the exhaust was brand spanking new
Yo do u have any test pipes, art pipes or is it the complete exhaust as you bought it? sounds sick , thanks
This is with unresonated test pipes
Sounds like crap.
Kinda sounds the same all the way through but I’m listening without headphones
Only difference in sound is the car in sport, besides that it sounds pretty similar
I was about to write the same exact thing
Only difference I can discern is that it's revved a bit higher in sport mode. Doesn't sport/sport+ mostly do things like make gear changes more aggressive and increase the amount of time it'll hold a gear when accelerating, plus suspension stuff and those other tricks?
@@ChristopherWoods I’m pretty sure on eco and comfort only 1 valve is opened but on sports/sport+ both opens
How did you enable the burbles? Ive got the same exhaust setup as you and I haven't found a way to enable burbles on my q50. I didn't see anything in the ecutek app and we don't have an oil pressure gauge like the Z's to see if it's on or not
Are you on the Z1 tune?
@@NotBigL yeah I've got the Z1 level 1 Ecutek Tunr
The process for the Q50 is exactly the same as it is for 370z, you just don\'t have the visual indicator of the oil temp gauge. If you want to verify that the system is "armed", you can go into the ECU Connect app, go to the data logging section, and scroll until you find a channel called "RaceROM Controller". By default, that value should be set to 140 when you turn the car on. If you arm the burble system (press "up" twice on the cruise buttons), that value should change to 180. Then you know the system is ready. The burble tune is only active above 4000 rpm. So you need to speed up past 4000 rpm, and then lift off the throttle, and then apply a small amount of throttle (~1-10%) to engage the burble. If you add too much, it will deactivate. It takes a bit of practice to figure it out, but you'll know it when you get it right.
@@NotBigL you are a legend. Thanks for responding so promptly 🙏
@@LittleBitofEverything Of course! I went a few days without knowing how to do it while waiting on a response from Z1.
Still the z1 tune?
No, custom tune now.
non resonated test pipes ?
Yes
@@NotBigL do you have a video with just the exhaust ?
Stock midpipe?
full stock exhaust with test pipes and muffler delete. do not recommend.
@@NotBigLwhy don’t you recommend? Too loud?
@@1tommyhill671 yeah too loud and sounds awful on acceleration
@@NotBigLarent test pipes the most effective way to tune? or is there a better option with a sound that isnt so raspy?
@@armaanasif9553 resonated test pipes + a real exhaust
Loved ts. 🔥🔥
3.7 version or 3.0t version?
3.7 version
As someone who is tuned by them, i am never going there to get a retune. My O2 sensors went out and supposedly they codes we’re supposed to get cleared after replacement, never did. Also instead of getting tuned it got detuned cause idk how they dyno it and the car is making 279 wheel after a tune. Doesn’t make sense to me. RS Enthalpy or Admin are the only places I would go
Sounds slow and heavy
Id consider the 3.7 a decently quick car obviously wont break any records but still decently quick .
@@Macho_USI comfortable as well, not the fastest car but will take a few street cars.
