How is this compared to the RX7 ?

This particular amplifier has a very linear tube like sound to me. I build some of my own amps and have tested many high output quality amplifiers. It looks to be a quasi complementary design with 4 matching all NPN T03 output transistors with 160 volt rails for the power supply which may be why it sounds so good. It was designed and build by Crown. Hard to get a schematic on this one!

I really could use your help. My local tech and I haven’t been able to find the problem on my X2000R. The recording button is faulty, it’s stuck on flashing red, it could not be turned off. The problem is believed to be related to capstan motor not working, we traced the problem to the bottom board but have not found the culprit yet. The one ohm resistor for the twin 24V power supply for the capstan motor and the bottom “logic” board kept burning, unless we unplugged the 5-wire connection to the bottom board.

Disappointed with the repair job. Cassette player stop working found the repair job done by amateur the bypassed mechanical contacts. The repair that really didn’t fix anything other than show me a video that it works how pathetic and disappointing. so I had a real electrical engineer, actually look at it and fix it correctly. So complete Wayne stuff $1000 $595 to repair it 155 to ship it when the actual cost of shipping is only 39 and then the packing is just atrocious. He just use scrap paper and foam and threw it together. I’m surprised it didn’t come in 10,000 different pieces. if you want something done right you just gotta do it yourself.

Why even play this for more than 2 seconds? The sound is coming out of a cellphone speaker. It's not ever going to sound good. Please just talk about the unit and your experience with it. Do you like it or do you not like it? Do you recommend purchasing one for an apartment? Would you buy another model marantz over this? This is what I was hoping to hear, but everyone is doing sound check videos with zero narration. It makes no sense.
