    Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today. The earth is not about 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day has not ended. Thus day 7 is a long time span, thus day 1 to 6 must be a long time span. Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is: Sunrise to sunset Sunset to next sunset Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ). We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast. Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains". Gen. 2:4 “in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens” The events of day 6 can not have happened in 24 hours. Have you entered into the 7th as Hebrews 4:9-10 asks you to? Creationism does not equal young Earth. There are many Old Earth creationists.

    "Christian logic." Oxymoron. "We know evolution is a fact because bacteria have evolved resistance to antibiotics." Strawman. Nobody claims that is sufficient to establish evolution as a fact. Contract this with "We know the Jesus was God because the Bible says so." "You're just a Christian because you were raised in a Christian home." That's an observation, not an argument. So it is not a fallacy. "The Bible teaches that God causes lightning and rain." Again, that's an observation. Not an argument. Not a fallacy. It's always funny watching Christian apologists pretend to understand logic. Like watching a dog ride a skateboard. You're impressed that they can stay on at all, but ultimately they can only go downhill.

      Religious people give us alligator mummies. The only people who listen to this nonsense have no standards to exclude nonsense. And we are still dealing with this "think not I come with peace" nonsense. The religious are ludicrous, avoided like the old women with too many cats. Freud wrote the antidote to Christianity is literacy. Nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital. Who sends their children to prophet trade-school? If there were a god, then would there be any demand for scripture interpretations by various podium-jockeys using fantasyland vocabulary? These are the religious, the wolves in sheep's clothing. Even Jesus says faith is worthless or you could order mountains to move about. The scam works with faith & prayers, suggesting we all should travel with one foot in their fantasyland. Theologians acquire grand titles without certification from a deity, & project certainty using fantasyland vocabulary in an academic setting to compensate for lack of reason. We really should address the social acceptance of large numbers of people speaking a fantasyland vocabulary & openly indulging in the deceit of religious belief as a tool of fascism. It was secular law & order ending the inquisitions & witch-killings. The Christians slapped their books on the Old Testament, & the Mormons glued theirs on to them both, thus proving Christians lack quality-control. As if God does not have a perfect record of doing nothing, as if we had no reason for the saying: God helps those helping themselves.

    Is it logical to believe a 17th century understanding of The Bible given our present knowledge of nature and science are fundamentally different, and far deeper? One might consider that as we learn about observed nature and evolutionary processes we become better informed as to how to understand the Bible. Assuming that God told the whole of the story to Israelites whose knowledge of the world was limited by the “science” at the time of Mosses would be an error. Contemporary physics indicates that time is not a constant flow, and is indeed accelerating. An epoc (a day), previously comprised a much longer duration than we observe today. In God’s observation is the distinction we make between an epoc and a day significant? Did God build the world in 7 contemporary sized days? One needs to question the simplistic logic of fundamentalists who refuse to acknowledge scientific observations, preferring instead the idea that God didn’t build the system of the world to be internally consistent. Indeed the entire evolutionary story written in Genesis is consistent with the developing evolutionary story observed by man, but only if one understands that scripture is written to be understood to the fullest extent of human comprehension of the natural world God made. Indeed if God wanted the world and it’s entire history could have be made last week in God’s time. For us it would appear to have been created before our parents were born, however God’s timeline is fundamentally different to our own - after all God and Christ are eternal and we are not. So the measure of our day is like God’s day in the same way that that man was made in God’s image: man’s day is made in the image of God’s Day. To what extent we are only just beginning to comprehend.

  • @holstatt6896
    @holstatt6896 ปีที่แล้ว

    "logic is indispensable in the field of apologetics." no shit, literally everything based in material reality tells us that your religion is false. Logic is based entirely in the human mind; and while can be used to understand material reality if applied properly, logic(especially logic that disregards material reality) can just as often be used to obfuscate clear discussion in service of deep seeded biases from things like social programming. Easy to say Logic proves god is real when the mindscape from which the arguments and environment those arguments exist in spawn from the mind of the participants who already assume that the answer of God being real is just, true. And as an aside, the idea that god is beyond human thinking is textually absurd. When he ordered all the tribes of Israel to butcher the men and boys of Benjamin while taking all the virginal women and girls as sex slaves for themselves, explicitly ordered by god to do exactly that for that reason with these now conquered women. From the same God that then kills the world for wickedness in Noah's flood. If killing and raping an entire tribe at anybody's behest and told to enjoy it is not wickedness, what is? God's character and moral behaviors change drastically throughout the bible. Maybe God needs to watch this video on logic, eh? EDIT: This guy has no understanding of evolution, or is purposefully misrepresenting it to his audience. We have fossil lines that show transitions from one species to another through time, we have genetic markers that show how closely related different animals are; from different species to entire kingdoms in the tree of life. We have observed bacteria (E. Coli) evolve into 12 different species in the lab over 40 years, including one strain picking up novel features that would be considered irreducibly complex. This guy is either deeply conflicted, or a fucking conman. EDIT 2: Logic as a philosophical practice among Europeans began with the pagan Greeks, and Christian logic is based strongly off of pagan Greek Logic. Thomas Aquinas was quite the fan of Plato and Aristotle. Fuck this guy.

LOL Sure, the worldview that says an undetectable, invisible, immortal, eternal sky wizard did what earlier Greek Mythology says that Zeus did, and fathered a child with a human woman: and the child was his own father, who was sacrificed to himself to appease the one part of himself by the death of the other part of himself, even though that other part of himself didn't actually die.

    All three opening statements have evidence to support them. They are not logical fallacies. Demonstrate how you know there is a god to think and that the god you know of thinks. How do you know that god decides anything, let alone correct thinking. How do you know that god has a mine when you haven't even demonstrated that god is real. Belief in god is not based on evidence or reason, only superstition. I only believe there is a chance of life on other planets. How do you know it's not possible to have two all powerful beings. What do you base this assertion on. Since you haven't demonstrated that god is real, how can you know that god is rational. An assertion from the bible is not evidence and adds nothing to your claims, except another baseless assertion. How do you know god gave us anything, let alone reasoning. Without evidence for heaven, believing anything will get you into heaven is a logical fallacy. Belief without evidence is illogical. Faith is belief without evidence thus faith is illogical. Show me the error in reason with this. The bible has been demonstrated to be fallible. It describes the world as flat with a skydome, both are false. Without compelling evidence for god, you also have no evidence that god causes the natural forces in the universe. Sunrise and sunset are the result of physics, no god has been demonstrated to have anything to do with that. Bacteria developing resistance to antibiotics requires a change to the genetics of the bacteria which is an example of evolution, thus evolution is true. The way the word evolution in that sentence is valid. It has been demonstrated that most people who belong to a religion grew up in that religion. Creation only has claims, no compelling evidence to support it and thus it is not science so science has no basis in creation. If god is beyond time and god is not made up of atoms then how can god have any affect on the reality that we currently inhabit. Your claim that if the universe is only energy and matter then the laws of logic can't exist is false since the laws of logic apply to energy and matter. I have rejected all god claims because no god claims have presented any compelling evidence. In my "heart of hearts" I know of no god that exists because no god has presented compelling evidence that they exist. Show me how it is logical that all of reality was just "poofed" into existence by a god. It is more reasonable to accept that since energy and matter can't be created or destroyed, all the matter and energy in the universe has always been here in one form or another. Remember that strawman fallacy you mentioned, you just committed it. The laws of logic exist all throughout the universe, not just in our brains. Since I have never believed that it is a product of our brains you have misrepresented me. No compelling evidence for the "spirit" has ever been found. Laws of logic are a description of how the universe works. The statement, "a proposition has the opposite value of its negation" does not describe an aspect of the universe until you apply it to the universe. Light is the opposite of no light. That applies to the universe. How can you demonstrate that a god is necessary for the laws of logic to exist. No part of the laws of logic support god. Show me the passage in the bible that proves this wrong and the evidence that supports it. Omnipresence contradicts the laws of logic. You can't be in two places at once. How do I know that the laws of logic work anywhere in the universe, I don't. But so far they have worked everywhere that they have been tested, and until they can be demonstrated not to work it is reasonable to believe that they will work anywhere in the universe. I've already made a good argument against scripture. Earth is not flat and does not have a dome over it. When did god reveal himself to man and how did man know it was god.

  • @Whatsisface4
    @Whatsisface4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The laws of logic don't stem from the nature of God, they are necessary abstract concepts that couldn't be any other way. Let's take the law of identity for example, A=A, a thing is what it is and not what it is not. What makes this a Law of Logic is that things cannot be otherwise, It's impossible for something to not be what it is. That this is so stands on it's own, the impossibility for things to be otherwise is what grounds this and make it a law. No God is needed for this to be true.

    Word for today. 1st Timothy Chapter 6:7-12 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses... Amen. Isaiah 54-17 God's word for his people who believe .. [17] No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD... JESUS Matthew 6:33-34 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble Amen .🙂

JESUS Matthew 6:33-34 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble Revelation 10:7 King James Version 7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Amen .🙂

    Thank you so much! This was enjoyable to listen to & explained some things I’ve heard before but a simpler way that I could understand more easily… altogether resulting in a deeper appreciation of God and His beautiful creation…😊❤

    Love Jason and his ministry but he himself has not used the laws of logic pertaining to the moon landings. I only bring this up because he brings up the moon landings everywhere he speaks.
