You are correct meditation can increase those. However if you are looking to have the experience I am describing you are looking to have the changes I indicated. As food for thought not all meditation techniques are seeking the same mental state or brain wave state.

@ppobyenp Alpha and theta are the meditation state... That's where relaxation occurs. Then you can go deeper or practice contemplation, mindfulness, or whatever. I don't know what you're talking about.

I would suggest you pay careful attention to my point which is that this particular type of meditative technique is imaginative. Since the reduction of beta waves lowers active thought and active thought plays a role in imagination I'm not recommending you do that in this case. Like I'm not teaching you to meditate for relaxation here I'm doing it with the goal of trying to produce an experience in this exact way. Otherwise you're right if you are going for only relaxation and deep state without this particular active participation of the mind which requires the delta wave then yeah you'd want to lower delta.

We seem to be disagreeing on what qualifies as meditation. Which is fine. Just as an FYI it doesn't have to be defined simply by one specific mental state. That would imply that everybody was extremely the same. The human mind is too different for everyone to achieve the same state in the exact same way. Thanks for pointing out the confusion I'll have to do a video clarifying different mental states and their purposes. 🙂

@ppobyenp 1) The point of meditation is the observation, expansion of awareness, and consciousness, not imagination. 2) Relaxation is foundational to all meditative practices. 3) It doesn't matter how different people are. Everyone goes into the same mental state every day, all day, especially in meditation. Conclusion: meditation is easy, and if you're forcing images, you're not meditating.

Science continues to discover things that have been known for a long time. It's just unfortunate that the people who have known them weren't scientists. Thanks for watching!

Like I said science continues to discover new things I didn't necessarily say it had discovered that as OP had stated. However for some reason most people jump on these particular claims and then use them to get to the claim that the human brain can invent light.

Correct and I wasn't trying to focus on them because they were the only one I was focusing on them because they're the easiest to encounter online. Because of that a lot of questions that I happen to get from people both at my lodge or outside of it tend to revolve around their group.

You are totally correct though that most just want people to show up for a bit before asking to join. I didn't want to set people up for more acceptance than they might receive. However, I didn't want to scare people off so that's why I encouraged emailing and reaching out. Are you part of any of the groups you shared with me?
