    well there is certainly alot of name dropping for bad and good but you cant dispute this mans craft , heck i use nails and HF tools alot. What i know is Henery Ford would be proud of the assemble line like process

    Our method is different than most makers. But I can assure you it is highly cost effective with a lot less headaches. All materials can be purchased locally. Thank you for watching

    I do things a little different than most. I use Beeswax from Rio Grande for cutting lube. It is a lot cleaner with very little residue left over.

    Did you have to change anything on the block on your bender I tried it and keep coming up long on one side

    • @SlinginShanks
      @SlinginShanks ปีที่แล้ว

      I have welded a stop on the block to where the heel band is clamped at the perfect spot. It measures about 1/4" from the edge. It took some experimenting to figure out the perfect spot. Thank you

    This may be a stupid question but how do you figure the size of heel band to the size of the boot, is there a formula for it?

    • @SlinginShanks
      @SlinginShanks ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not a stupid question. Most makers generally have 2-3 sizes they build from. Men’s-Women’s-Extra wide.

    • @leeknivek
      @leeknivek 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to find the stretch out for the radius, plus the straight on each side. For example, if it's 1.5" radius, 3" diameter, you would do 3 x π = 6.2 or something. That's the circumference of the full circle, so half of that is the circumference of half the circle, so you have 3.1" + 2" straight on each side, you get 7.1" That's just an example, you'll have to measure for whatever boots you are making the spurs for.

      Thanks Bruce! We were inspired by all you have given to the trade and craft through your videos, not only in spurs, but on countless other cowboy needs. Your the Round-Robin when it comes to cowboy gear and a wonderful guy and friend on top of all that. You give unselfishly to the community and set and good example for everyone in the craft and when we made the video so we just tried to follow your lead and I think folks are enjoying seeing the process and it was fun to do! Thanks for all the help and guidance on the journey Bruce! You have been a wonderful mentor to me. Thanks for all the kind words from day one and letting me send 1000 plus pictures, texts, and emails, lol and always “spurring me along”! Your friend, Forever grateful Colin
