The Cultivating Capital Course - Online Marketing for Farmers and Homesteaders
Are you a farmer or homesteader who wants to learn how to use online marketing to grow your business? From Facebook to Instagram to blogging to email marketing - the online advertising world is vast and trying to piece together how it all can create profit for your farm/homestead business is overwhelming.
The Cultivating Capital Course was created by a fellow farmer and marketer, Kelsey Jorissen Olesen, who runs an 80-acre farm in NW Wisconsin where she sells pastured eggs, various market produce, and value-added products. From running a roadside farmstand to doing multiple farmers markets to shipping her products, Kelsey has made her farm profitable by utilizing her online marketing knowledge.
Three years ago she developed the Cultivating Capital Course to teach fellow farmers, homesteaders, and home business owners how to use online marketing to grow their customer base, increase profit, and actually enjoy using social media. Every year Kelsey updates the course's tutorials to reflect current online marketing trends.
Kelsey cuts through all the overwhelm and shows you step-by-step how to:
•Create memorable branding using free design programs
•Build a user-friendly website with a fully-functioning online store that *you* have complete control over
•Set up email marketing that automatically funnels website visitors into paying customers
•Post to Facebook and Instagram to build not just a following but a vibrant customer base
•Use Pinterest as a marketing tool to raise awareness of your farm business and its offerings
•Set up Facebook and Instagram ads that utilize specific targeting so you reach only the people who are primed to purchase your products or offerings
•Create blog content that not only brings in website visitors but turns those visitors into patrons
Join the 350+ other farmers and homesteaders who have enrolled in the Cultivating Capital Course and make 2022 your farm's most profitable year yet.

    Does anyone know what breed is the hen in the thumbnail??

  • @cheryldahl9192
    @cheryldahl9192 ปีที่แล้ว

    It depends on the broody hen. Mary, my broody hen sits on her eggs, on the best nest (according to all the other hens) and hatches the chicks out fine. If she is forced to leave her nest, she sits on another one to wait for her nest to be open again. I marked the eggs I wanted to allow to hatch, so removing the unmarked (new) ones is easy. She likes to move after the chicks hatch out though. She likes to raise her kids alone. lol Mary is one of the best broody hens I've had in decades though. :) She always remembers her nest.

    So, if the eggs get cold, their no good? Fertilized eggs ?

    Hello! Quick question… How long do they stay in the brooder box after the hatch? Thank you!

    my broody hen would destroy the whole box with the dust bath...I'll have to put that further away.

    • @greenwillowhomestead
      @greenwillowhomestead ปีที่แล้ว

      You know your hens best! Our broody hens typically dust bath once every 2-3 days and while there is a bit of a mess, the brooder box overall has been the best thing to keep our mamas focused on their own clutch of eggs since it's right there in the box.

    What type of oil pans do you use for food?

    • @greenwillowhomestead
      @greenwillowhomestead ปีที่แล้ว

      We like the galvanized oil pans you can get at any auto store or hardware/home improvement store.

    So after the eggs hatch how long do the baby chicks and mama stay in the box before returning to the main flock?

    • @greenwillowhomestead
      @greenwillowhomestead ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say about 1-2 weeks. By then, the peeps have established a good routine with mama hen!

    • @DaughterofYahVA
      @DaughterofYahVA ปีที่แล้ว

      @@greenwillowhomestead do you have issues with flock messing with the chicks when the mama and chicks are reintroduced?

    • @all4freedom100
      @all4freedom100 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You absolutely have to isolate the hen? Hmmm…I must have very rare chickens.

    I would like this to be a self standing unit. How can I waterproof it?

    • @greenwillowhomestead
      @greenwillowhomestead ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend putting it under a porch or lean-to. It's hard to expose a broody hen to the elements when she is sitting on eggs.
