What really bothers me is that I am not seeing men therapists~virtually all females and primarily young!!!

To me, the only "experts" in child therapy are the children themselves! I think Violet would agree. The adult will usually follow the leads and cues of the child~not anticipate or "predict". This is especially true for good parenting and good teaching~through every university level to PhD work.

Question 3 Parents should come clean to their children about their own fears and anxieties~it makes them more human to their children, especially if they see their parents are not falling apart under the stress of their anxieties or fears and are able to talk about them. They model the example that in spite of these stresses they can survive them and still be whole by talking about them calmly.

To me, this pandemic opens up the opportunity to bond deeper with one's children. This can be done! Think of all the play time that has been made available for doing this! It is unfortunate that far too many parents think that this is merely a time for great stress, and I suspect that such parents show their children how bored with living that they really are. Therefore, it will take a change in their conventional attitudes and beliefs toward their children for this opportunity to become realized. Let's not forget that the vast majority of adult americans have tolerated the threat of nuclear War for decades upon decades; is that the conduct of sane and loving adults who care deeply about and feel responsible for, the well being of their own children? So~called "racism" not only pales in comparison with this threat, but is an "acceptable" social problem to talk about because it does not change nor address one iota~the nuclear threat problem.

Hi Violet, thanks so much for this video, I have recently watched Peter Mortola's videos about your work, and both have really spoken to me and validated and added to the way I work with children. You spoke of the 9 year girl who came into your room and saw the miniatures, I am a Jungian Sandplay therapist and there is something magical when a child's psyche recognises not only an opportunity to communicate through image but a therapist who can hold the process.
