My another question is can I directly apply for a ICU nurse in US without any prior clinical experience from India as because I have 7 years as of now teaching experience?
My first question has got deleted. So here it is. I have done my MSN in neuroscience nursing from Apollo India. I very much want to do this CRNA. I have 7 years of teaching experience from three different college of nursing in India but no clinical experience. I have talked to many people but different people are giving different opinions. So the question is what is best thing for me to right now? Getting an OT experience or an ICU bedside? Also which university is best fir applying for the CRNA? From which university have you completed your CRNA?
Lifted my spirits. Even if I don't get in.
@@betsy5716 You’ll def get in. Keep up the good work.
why does she have dr in front of her name if she is a crna?
@@dhillonb9036 great question.CRNAs with a Doctor of Nursing Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree are referred to as “Doctor” because the DNAP is considered a terminal, doctoral-level degree in the field of nurse anesthesia, similar to the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) for nurse practitioners. This title recognizes their advanced education, clinical expertise, and specialized training in anesthesia practice. However, in clinical settings, these DNAP-prepared CRNAs often clarify their role with patients and colleagues to avoid any potential confusion with physicians, ensuring patients understand their scope of practice as anesthesia specialists. While they may use the title in academic or professional settings, they usually clarify their role in clinical environments to avoid patient confusion with medical doctors.
Very informative.we need more like this
@@AM-td8it I’m glad you liked it. Keep supporting.
Thank you for this video. I needed this 🙏🏽
Ofcourse man, I am glad you liked it.
It's a shame that there are no more 2 year MSN programs. DNAP really only adds more fluff but not necessarily more clinical knowledge
is there a big difference between shadowing an anesthetist vs nurse anesthetist. and so does shadowing a MD count towards hours for CRNA school?
Hey there, so it depends on the school you’re applying to. I say it’s always ideal to shadow a CRNA but if you can’t find any CRNA then MD should be fine as well. But always refer to your school’s website for the best answer.
Awesome
I’m applying to Columbia university and Rutgers University

Good luck to you
Thank you so much for the video, it was very insightful! I apologize if it was already mentioned, but is there a way to reach you all directly via email or something similar?
If not, one question I had was regarding prerequisites, particularly science courses. Do you recommended taking those at a university (such as the one we got our BSN in) or at a community/junior college?
@@miguelal-4 Hey Miguel, when it comes to science courses like anatomy or physiology it does not really matter where you take them. However, when it comes to grad school courses such as Advanced Pathophysiology then you have to take them at a University which offers those grad courses. Hope that helps
I am in the process to apply to the program soon! Thank you 🙏
Good luck to you.
