Does it matter whether exercises resemble the game?
Do typical drills that table tennis players currently do, represent what happens during match? And does it matter if they do or don't? Comment your thoughts! And stay tuned for the next clip where I discuss my thoughts regarding exercises.
Just one comment on the clip: There isn’t a single definitive way to determine what must be included for something to have representative design-different people emphasize different elements. The three aspects that I said that Rob Gray highlights, reflect his perspective and are not definitively proven by science.

An introduction to the concept of blocked and random practice and what the ecological approach has to say about training structures. I will dive much deeper into the topic of practice design from the ecological point of view in future clips. Stay tuned!

First video on motor learning! Let’s get the ball rolling! Were/are you a table tennis professional player? Your name rings a bell but I can't remember exactly if I ever saw you play. Anyway your content is gold. I was always curious on which approach to use when I want to learn new motor skills an how to solidify my existing skills

Thanks for the insightful video! Would you always recommend exercises where main goal is winning the point? Let’s say for example a newer player that wants to learn how to backhand flick, should they focus more on accuracy first and adding more power with time, or just try to go for winner flicks from the start?
